About the event

The North Carolina Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum and the state's rich fossil record. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and Southern charm. Activities include digging for fossils, fossil displays, fossil auction, educational displays by partner nonprofit organizations, mining & engineering zone, live entertainment, food, craft, & fossil vendors, dinosaur shows, kid zone, teen activities, and much, much more!

Terms & Conditions

Please read all the information below before beginning your application.

 

As a vendor, you are responsible for understanding all terms and conditions. By submitting your application, you agree to all North Carolina Fossil Festival Terms and Conditions.

 

All vendors are personally responsible for collecting, reporting, and remitting sales tax as required by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. The North Carolina Fossil Festival and the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc. assume no responsibility regarding vendors' collection, reporting, and remittance of sales tax for sales during the North Carolina Fossil Festival.

 

Booths will sell only items available in their parent business's catalog. In other words, the sale of different items, including food, drink, non-business merchandise, crafts, art, fossils, etc., is prohibited. Sharing booth space with other agencies is not permitted.

 

Vendors must provide their own table(s), chair(s), and set-ups. All tents and coverings must be weighted to prevent becoming airborne in the event of windy conditions. Cylinder/sleeve weights or water canisters are preferred. No stakes may be driven into asphalt or hard paved surfaces. All tents, coverings, and booth areas will be inspected for safety before the event’s opening. 

 

  • Applying does not guarantee acceptance into the festival.
  • Only complete applications submitted through this webpage will be accepted and considered. All other forms of submission will not be honored.
  • A $10.00 non-refundable application fee is required.
  • A committee selects applicants by vendor application only.
  • Applications are due by 6:00 p.m. EST on April 25, 2026.
  • Vendors will be notified via email of the decision.
  • Vendors will be notified via email of the decision.
  • Once approved, vendors will automatically be charged for the total vendor fee, and an approval email will be sent.


By submitting this application, I agree to hold the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the North Carolina Fossil Festival harmless for any injury or loss to any person, equipment, property, or goods for any cause whatsoever. I also agree that the stated organizations cannot be held responsible for any claims for damage, injury, or loss arising from or in connection with the use of the space or grounds during the North Carolina Fossil Festival.

 

Vendors not adhering to the terms and conditions will be asked to leave the festival area and will not be allowed to participate in future Fossil Festivals.

 

I also understand that the NC Fossil Festival is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds of vendor fees in the event the NC Fossil Festival is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather. 

Prices

Application fee $10.00 Non-refundable A $10 non-refundable application fee (plus processing fees) is charged upon submission.
10'x10' Booth Space $250.00 Non-refundable The $250 booth fee (plus processing fees) will secure your 10' x 10' space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged upon approval of your application. The booth fee is for TWO days of vending.
10'x20' Booth Space $400.00 Non-refundable The $400 booth fee (plus processing fees) will secure your 10-foot deep by 20-foot wide space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged upon approval of your application. The booth fee is for TWO days of vending.
