About the event

The North Carolina Fossil Festival celebrates the Aurora Fossil Museum and the state's rich fossil record. Join us for a family-friendly event steeped in tradition and Southern charm. Activities include digging for fossils, fossil displays, fossil auction, educational displays by partner nonprofit organizations, mining & engineering zone, live entertainment, food, craft, & fossil vendors, dinosaur shows, kid zone, teen activities, and much, much more!

Terms & Conditions

Please read all the information below before beginning your application. As a vendor, you are responsible for understanding all terms and conditions. By submitting your application, you agree to all North Carolina Fossil Festival Terms and Conditions.
 

  • Food Vendors should be prepared to serve a high volume of people.
  • Food vendors may sell soft drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Food Vendors must abide by NC Health guidelines and will be inspected before opening. For more information, please get in touch with the Beaufort County Health Department at 252-946-1902.
  • Food Vendors are subject to Fire Marshall regulations.
  • Food Vendors must keep their area free of grease splashes, spills, and/or any grease containers.
  • Grease disposal and clean-up are the responsibility of the Food Vendor.
  • Food Vendors must keep their area free of trash or any other items on the ground.
  • Trash must be disposed of properly in the appropriate trash cans.

All vendors are personally responsible for collecting, reporting, and remitting sales tax as required by the North Carolina Department of Revenue. The North Carolina Fossil Festival and the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc. assume no responsibility regarding vendors' collection, reporting, and remittance of sales tax for sales during the North Carolina Fossil Festival.
 

  • As a vendor for the North Carolina Fossil Festival, prices will not be set.
  • A non-refundable application fee of $10.00 is required to submit your application.
  • Applying does not guarantee acceptance as an NC Fossil Festival vendor.
  • Only applications submitted through this webpage will be accepted; incomplete applications will be automatically rejected.
  • Applications received by mail or email will automatically be rejected.
  • A committee selects applicants based on vendor type, quality, and reputation.
  • Vendors are required to provide an NC Department of Revenue Sales & Use Tax ID Number.
  • Applications are due by 6:00 p.m. EST on April 11, 2026.
  • Vendors will be notified via email of the decision.
  • Once approved, vendors will be automatically charged the total vendor fee, and an approval email will be sent.

VENDOR AGREEMENT

By submitting this application, I agree to hold the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc., the Town of Aurora, and the North Carolina Fossil Festival harmless for any injury or loss to any person, equipment, property, or goods for any cause whatsoever. I also agree that the stated organizations cannot be held responsible for any claims for damage, injury, or loss arising from or in connection with the use of the space or grounds during the North Carolina Fossil Festival in Aurora.
 
I also understand that the NC Fossil Festival is a rain or shine event and there are no refunds of vendor fees in the event the NC Fossil Festival is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather.

Prices

Application fee $10.00 Non-refundable A $10 non-refundable application fee (plus processing fees) is charged upon submission.
Commercial-Food 10'x10' space (canopy or pushcart) $250.00 Non-refundable The $250 booth fee (plus processing fees) will secure your 10' x 10' space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged upon approval of your application. The booth fee is for TWO days of vending.
Commercial-Food Truck/Trailer Under 20 feet $350.00 Non-refundable The $350 booth fee (plus processing fees) will secure your space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged upon approval of your application. The booth fee is for TWO days of vending.
Commercial Food Truck/Trailer Over 20 feet $500.00 Non-refundable This $500 booth fee (plus processing fees) will secure your space during the North Carolina Fossil Festival and will be charged upon approval of your application. The booth fee is for TWO days of vending.
