Welcome to Musselfest March 7-8, 2026! This is the application to have a tent in front of your business on Front Street during Musselfest 2026. This is an electronic agreement and by selecting to apply, you are validating and approving this agreement electronically.

Coupeville, WA – March 7–8, 2026
1. Event Overview
Musselfest is an annual community festival celebrating local seafood, music, art, and culture. Coupeville’s Front Street businesses are invited to participate as essential partners in creating a lively and welcoming festival experience. By participating, businesses agree to the following terms and conditions.
2. Eligibility & Application
Open to all Front Street businesses located within the Musselfest festival footprint.
Businesses must complete an online participation form by the stated deadline.
Participation details (activities, displays, sales, etc.) are subject to approval by the Musselfest Committee to ensure a safe and cohesive festival experience.
3. Fees
There is no participation fee for Front Street businesses.
Businesses must confirm on their application if they plan to set up a tent or outdoor display in front of their location.
Space use must be coordinated with festival organizers to ensure accessibility and public safety.
4. Hours of Operation
Businesses are encouraged to be open and active during festival hours:
Saturday, March 7: 11:00 am – 4:30 pm
Sunday, March 8: 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Outdoor setups must be ready by 11:00 am and remain open for the duration of the day’s events.
Early breakdowns are not permitted without prior approval from festival staff.
5. Set-Up & Tear-Down
Set-up and street closure details will be shared at least two weeks before the event.
Any outdoor tables, tents, or displays must be set up within the designated area approved by event organizers.
Vehicles must be removed from the street closure area by 10:00 am each event day.
Tear-down may not begin until the festival closes on Sunday.
6. Display Requirements
Businesses must provide their own display materials (tents, tables, signage, etc.) unless otherwise arranged.
All tents must be safely secured with at least 50 lbs. per leg. Stakes may not be used on pavement.
Displays must not block sidewalks or interfere with emergency access routes.
Signage should clearly identify the business and any special festival offerings.
7. Sales & Activities
Businesses may sell products, host promotions, or offer activities consistent with their approved participation plan.
Any food or beverage sales outside of existing health permits must receive prior approval from the Musselfest Committee and comply with Island County Health Department regulations.
Any raffles, drawings, or games of chance must comply with all applicable laws and be pre-approved.
8. Insurance & Liability
Businesses are expected to maintain their own liability insurance covering operations during the event.
The festival is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to any property.
Businesses agree to indemnify and hold harmless Musselfest, the Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association, the Town of Coupeville, and event organizers from any claims arising from their participation.
9. Independent Business Status
Each participating business operates as an independent entity. Participation in Musselfest does not create any partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship with event organizers.
10. Compliance & Conduct
Businesses must follow all directions from festival staff, safety personnel, and law enforcement.
Professional, courteous conduct is required at all times.
Failure to comply with these terms may result in removal from the event or loss of future participation privileges.
11. Cancellations & Weather
Musselfest is a rain or shine event; refunds are not issued due to weather.
In the event of cancellation due to public safety concerns, natural disasters, or other emergencies, organizers will notify participants promptly.
12. Additional Provisions
All activities and displays must be pre-approved. Any changes must be submitted in writing.
Electrical access should be provided from each business’s own location if needed for outdoor setups. Extension cords and power use must comply with safety codes.
Use of propane, open flames, or other potentially hazardous materials requires prior approval and adherence to safety requirements.
Acknowledgment
By submitting a participation form, each business acknowledges that it has read, understood, and agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.
