About the application
This December, we’re introducing something new as part of the annual Holly Jolly Weekend: Holly Jolly
Windows – a festive holiday window decorating contest to light up The Swannanoa Valley.
Visitors will vote for their favorite displays, helping to bring shoppers into your store while spreading holiday cheer!
Important Dates
• Monday, November 17 - Deadline for registration
• Wednesday, December 3 - Windows must be fully decorated
• Friday, December 5 – Saturday, December 6: Holly Jolly Weekend (voting begins)
• Sunday, December 14 - Voting closes at 9:00 PM
• Monday, December 15 - Winners announced via Chamber social media and Chamber newsletter.
Awards & Categories
• People’s Choice (public vote)
• Best Lit Display (nighttime impact)
• Most Creative Use of Theme (Winter Wonderland Windows)
• Judge’s Choice (selected by Holly Jolly Event Committee)
Winners Receive:
People’s Choice Winner - One year paid Chamber membership, 15-minute professional photoshoot of your shop and a “Holly Jolly Windows Winner 2025” window decal.
Other Category Winners - Professional photos of their winning window, gift basket, and a “Holly Jolly Windows Winner 2025” decal.
All Participants - “Holly Jolly Windows 2025” participant decal, inclusion on the Holly Jolly Windows map and promotion on Chamber social media and Chamber newsletter.
How Voting Works
Each participating business will receive a 'Vote for Our Window!' sign with a QR code. Shoppers can scan the code to access the official Chamber voting form. Encourage customers to share photos on social media using #HollyJollyWindows.
Family Fun Add-On - “Star Search”
To make Holly Jolly Windows even more engaging for families, participating businesses can choose to hide a star in their decorated window display. We’ll even provide the star! Kids (and kids-at-heart) will be encouraged to look for the hidden star in each participating window as part of our Star Search activity.
We’ll also encourage visitors to snap a photo of the star when they find it and share it on social media using the hashtag #HollyJollyWindows. This is a fun way to increase interaction, bring more attention to your window, and spread holiday cheer throughout the community!
Guidelines
• Displays must be family-friendly and visible from outside.
• Use of lights is encouraged.
• Participation is free – just sign up and decorate!
• Have fun and show your holiday spirit!
