You must submit a separate application for each category.If you sell jewelry, you may apply in a category other than Jewelry if jewelry is less than 10% of your items for sale. Otherwise, you must apply in Jewelry. All work displayed in the booth must be for sale.Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural.Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted.Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted. Jewelry: Only those artists accepted in the jewelry category may display or sell jewelry. Items made from commercial parts may not be exhibited.Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. No jewelry will be accepted in this category.Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material is acceptable. Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. About the event

Join us for the Taste of Christmas: Baking for Charity, a festive community event celebrating holiday flavors, family fun, and giving back! Hosted at Hand Picked Nursery’s 25-acre farm on Friday, December 6th from 11 AM to 3 PM, this exciting event invites bakers of all levels to showcase their talents in one of three delicious categories: Best Cookie, Best Pie, and Best Cake. The entry fee is $75, which includes your sample station setup and space to sell your baked goods during the event. Contestants are asked to prepare enough product to provide samples for at least 600 attendees, with each sample being a 4 oz. portion. These samples will be sold to the public through ticket purchases, and proceeds will be distributed as follows: 65% to the contestant, 30% to our two featured charities — the Boys & Girls Clubs of Johnston County and Forward Operating Base (FOB), and 5% to administrative costs. Each category will award first, second, and third place prizes. First-place winners will receive $100 cash and a $100 Hand Picked Nursery gift card. Second place will receive a $20 Hand Picked Nursery gift card, and third place will receive a $10 Hand Picked Nursery gift card. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your creations, connect with the community, grow your local audience, and compete for prizes — all while giving back to two incredible causes this holiday season.

Terms & Conditions

This event is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 233 Ennis Rd, Benson, NC 27504. Must start set up at 8:30. By joining, vendors agree to the event's terms and conditions, including adhering to setup and breakdown schedules, maintaining their assigned spaces, and selling only approved products or services. Vendors must provide their own equipment, comply with local laws, and ensure their setup is safe and professional. Proof of permits and liability insurance may be required for certain offerings, such as food or beverages. The event will proceed rain or shine, and vendors are responsible for weather preparedness. Disruptive behavior or non-compliance with guidelines may result in removal without refund. By participating, vendors also agree to indemnify Hand Picked Nursery from any claims arising from their involvement.

With thousands of visitors each season exploring our 25-acre farm, garden center, trails, and events, our location offers year-round visibility and steady foot traffic from families, gardeners, and local shoppers. For a one-time $40 setup fee, your products will be beautifully displayed in our retail space, where our team handles sales on your behalf. You’ll enjoy the benefits of selling without staffing a booth, while earning 75% of every sale (Hand Picked Nursery retains just 25% commission). This model allows you to focus on creating while we help you reach new customers, build brand recognition, and become part of a trusted community hub. As a consignment vendor, you’ll also have the opportunity to create and lead classes for the community, sharing your craft and teaching what you love. This added visibility allows you to inspire others, build relationships, and showcase your expertise in a hands-on way.
