This application is specific to Non Profit Groups interested in participating in the Weslaco Lighted Christmas Parade. Must Provide Proof of Non-Profit Designation!

About the event

Celebrate the holidays with this local Christmas Parade featuring a variety of floats, and a special appearance from Santa himself! Featuring over 100 float entries, music and great fun! This year you can enjoy the communities creativity as they display country themed floats! 2025 Parade Theme: A Country Christmas! Where: Down Texas Blvd, from Pike St. to 6th St. When: Santa Dash starts at 5PM / Parade starts at 6PM (if you are participating in the parade, staging begins at 3PM) Parking: Parking spaces are available down the parade route, note that parade staging takes place down Border and Pike and parade will begin at the corner of Pike and Texas and end at corner of Texas and 6th. Terms & Conditions

Parade Rules:

 

  • Entries will not be allowed to have a Santa Claus on board as there is only one designated Santa.
  • For safety purposes we will not allow any distribution of articles such as candy, leaflets, coins, souvenirs, or any other items. Please help us keep our parade guests safe and keep our environment clean!
  • All participants must use creative costuming/decorations to meet the parades criteria of entertainment value.
  • All participants are expected to use music as part of their float.
  • All entries must use light as part of their entry.
  • The Weslaco Lighted Christmas Parade is a family community event, all entries must contain appropriate holiday lighting, themes, and messaging. Any inappropriate displays, attire, or political messaging will be removed from the event.
  • Competitive floats arriving after the set judging time will not be judged.
  • All competitive floats MUST be ready to be judged by the specified time, no exceptions will be made. Any float not ready by the specified time will be skipped and no refunds will be made.
  • All dancing/performance groups will only be allowed a 45-second performance stop at designated areas to allow a good flow of the parade.
  • No vehicles may follow walking groups at the end of the parade, please make accommodations.
  • Consumption of alcoholic beverages, use of illegal substances, or other illicit substances by any person(s) in the lineup, parade route or parking area is strictly prohibited. Anyone in an inebriated condition will not be allowed to participate in the parade. The organization will be removed from the parade and jeopardize future participation.
  • Entry numbers will be sent via email the day before the parade & will be selected at random due to unit size and other factors.
  • Semi truck's will not be allowed.
  • Please review the attached safe parking and unloading areas to ensure all participants are safe during and after the event, failure to follow directions will jeopardize future participation. (Safe Parking and Unloading at Weslaco City Hall)
  • Please ensure your driver has received and reviewed the notice to parade float drivers.
  • For safety reasons any unit arriving after the designated timeframe will be moved to the back of the parade lineup.
  • Only the units listed in the application will be allowed in at the time of the parade.
  • Only the business listed on the application may display its information. No subletting or third-party advertisements are allowed.
  • All float drivers must submit a copy of their valid driver's license prior to the parade.
  • All units must have an active insurance policy for any vehicles participating in the parade.
  • No confetti poppers or items that cause excessive littering will be allowed.
  • Failure to follow the parade policies and guidelines will jeopardize future participation.
