This one application is all you need to unlock access to our weekly makers markets! You'll have the ability to opt into participating whenever you want!

We're looking for artists and artisans to help showcase the best of Winston-Salem and the surrounding areas in the NEW Alley of The Arts every Saturday. Think of it like a backyard for the Arts District. We’re building a space rooted in mutual respect, self-expression, and autonomy.

Seasonal event markets are wonderful but what happens in between? That's where we come in. The Alley of the Arts wants you to call our Arts District home. It's a place to support your dreams and creativity on a regular basis!

Once approved, artists will have full autonomy to choose when they participate in the market via our online booking system right on our website. It's all up to you!

OUR MISSION

The Alley of The Arts is a collaborative outdoor space by artists for artists. The Alley will work to further drive and cultivate culture rooted in creativity, self-expression, and progress in Winston-Salem's Arts District by giving our artists a home. It's a space for joy, learning, creativity, and connection.

IDEAL VENDORS

• Artists/artisans whose work is handmade or designed. No resaleing unless it's upcycled.
• Artists/artisans with strong branding. 
• Self motivated and self-responsible for booking, setting up, and breaking down.
• Artists/Artisans who pride themselves in originality and ingenuity 
• Offer a range of price points to help keep art & artisan crafts accessible.
• Artists/Artisans who have an established market set up

LOCATION

The Alley of the Arts is located in the courtyard between 6th & Vine and Delurk Gallery. The Alley can be entered through that alleyway or through Major Tomms & DOSE Artist Collective.

MARKET HOURS, SPACE SIZES, & PRICES

Market hours are 12-4 every Saturday. Vendors will have an hour before and after to set up and break down. Space sizes are offered in three different areas: 8x6 at $30/per in the alleyway, 8x6 at $35/per on the brick patio, and 8x8 at $40/per in the garden. Spaces are first come first serve in the area you purchased in. Artists may purchase up to two spaces per weekend. Refunds will only be given if market is cancelled due to weather.

VENDOR APPROVAL

All approved vendors are held to the same standard as agreed upon by our founders. A denied application does not reflect the value or quality of your work. A waitlist means that we'd like to approve you but already have too many similar artists. Once approved, you'll receive a vendor packet and password to self-book.

INDEPENDENT OPERATIONS

This space is owned and operated by three small business owners. We'll be unable to leave our shops during market hours. Makers will be expected to be completely prepared to operate, set up, and break down on their own. Vendor must bring their own tables & set up.

SELF BOOKING & ADVANCED BOOKING

Once accepted, vendors will have the ability to book their Saturday on the website. There is limited space available. You may book up to 2 months in advance. Each approved artist/artisan may book no more than twice a month.

WE DO NOT ALLOW

• AI Generated art or branding
• 3D Printing using unoriginal designs (must provide proof of designs)
• Unaltered vintage clothing or housewares (separate vintage markets will be held and have their own application)
• Most licensed intellectual property (disney, marvel, sports teams, etc) but exceptions will be made on a case by case basis
