About the application

Square Merchant:   This application is for those who have a brick & mortar business on the Historic Square.    

Booth Spaces: 

·         If you intend to SELL outside of your storefront, please complete the following Square Merchant application. If you do sell outside, you must be selling items you would typically sell in your store - no sub-letting.

·         If  you are utilizing the 10x10 space in front of your business, you agree to be OPEN throughout the hours of the festival as do all other vendors

In addition you must agree to the attached 2026 Vendor Terms & Conditions that apply to ALL Vendors at the festival. 

·         You must register by July 1st – no exceptions

·         All merchants who are open will be noted on festival maps - so don't miss the deadline!  Thank you for your understanding! 

About the event

The first SantaCaliGon Days festival was held in 1940 to celebrate the unique heritage of the City of Independence as the starting point of the Santa Fe, California, and Oregon Trails. A second celebration was held after World War II in 1947. The festival was not held again until 1973. In 53 years, the SCG has evolved into one of the nations premier FREE festivals, drawing more than 200,000 people each Labor Day weekend.

Terms & Conditions

A few FYI's for you as you look through the application:

  • Insurance requirements for vendors
    • All vendors who utilize a 10x10 space are required to be covered by liability insurance during the Festival and set-up times.
    • Vendor may choose to provide a certificate of insurance or pay a liability insurance user fee.
    • Vendors who choose to provide a COI should submit to the Chamber no later than August 1, 2026 including:
      • The City of Independence and the Independence Chamber of Commerce listed as additional insureds.
      • General liability coverage limit of no less than $1,000,000 covering September 3rd through September 7th, 2026.
      • Name of vendor or organization on each document.
    • In the event the Vendor elects not to provide evidence of insurance coverage, Vendor shall pay the Chamber a liability insurance user fee of $150 to be paid by August 1, 2026.
      • If Vendor has multiple booth spaces and they do not adjoin the Vendor shall pay a liability insurance user fee of $150 per location.
