About the application

The Kumoricon Artist Alley welcomes amateur and professional artists to showcase their work and original merchandise. Artist Alley merchandise traditionally includes fan art prints, manga, models, paintings, and novelty crafts, but is limited only by your imagination.

Applications for the Kumoricon 2026 Artist Alley will open at 7:00pm Pacific Time on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and will close at 7:00pm Pacific Time on the following day, for a maximum of 24 hours. A decision regarding your application will be completed by our selections jury in May.

All Artist Alley applicants will need to pay a $5 fee (+Eventeny processing fees) to apply. This fee is non-refundable. The artist alley jurying process is a long, tedious, and skilled process that requires hours of focused, detail oriented knowledge that few individuals within our organization are equipped to handle. In an effort to decrease the number of double applicants, as well as reduce automated bot applicants, we have decided to add a nonrefundable application fee to that process this year. The aim is to help lighten the load on our jurying team and allow for approvals to be sent out earlier in the year for adequate planning. Bear in mind that this fee only applies to Artist Alley applicants, Creators' Column and Exhibitors applicants will not be charged this fee.

Application Jury Process
Kumoricon’s 2026 Artist Alley will be utilizing a jury process to accept applications. Applications received by the closure date (see below) will be chosen based on the jury process without regard to when they were submitted. The jury process will begin following the close of Artist Alley applications with notifications of your status going out to all applicants by May. The jury process will be based on (in order of importance):

- Adhering to the Artist Alley rules and guidelines based on information in the application (incomplete applications are disqualified)
- Variety of products/offerings/artwork (categories of many types)
- Professionalism and completeness of portfolio

Artists should be ready to provide:
- Basic contact information, including an up-to-date email address
- Examples of work through photos of booths at prior events (this is highly preferred), DeviantArt/YouTube tutorial/websites with example art, or any online link that gives examples of at least 10 pieces of work.*

*Note: If your examples display violations described in the Artist Alley Contract (linked below), your application will be denied, unless you mention in the “additional information” field that that piece is excluded.

Sharing a Table
Up to two artists may share a single table in the Artist Alley. If you wish to do so, do not apply separately - apply as a single applicant. On the application, be sure to utilize the Secondary Email Address and Portfolio URL questions within the application below for the shared artist. Shared Artist tables will be juried as one artist with an average score between the two being assigned as the result. While there is no difference in fees between solo and shared Artist Alley tables, bear in mind that there are still only two badges given per table unless additional badges are purchased separately. Your secondary/partner applicant's portfolio and email must be on your original application (or edited on your application with approval from KumoriMarket management before May) - requests for sharing a table after the deadline will be declined as our jury is unable to reconvene after that time.

Artist Collectives or Groups beyond two individuals are not allowed to share a single table and must apply separately. Be sure to review our subletting policy on the contract outlined below - the artwork or merchandise of artists not on your original application are not allowed to be sold, distributed, or displayed at your table.

Pricing and Applications
Full Artist Alley spaces include 2 complimentary full weekend memberships (valued at $120–$160), and will have a cost of $300 for standard tables. Artist Alley tables are 6-foot tables with a 2-foot width and two chairs. Each artist table includes 2 weekend memberships to the convention. Up to two additional badges (for a total of four) may be purchased below, if desired.

Artists seeking to participate in Artist Alley should not register as attendees at this time, but instead, apply to Artist Alley using the form below.
Please see our updated Artist Alley Application FAQ at (linked below) for answers to frequent questions. If you have any additional requests, please email artists@kumoricon.org and we will be happy to assist you.
