Cherry Pie Eating Contest
About the application
Do you have what it takes to be crowned the Cherry Pie Eating Champion? Enter our Cherry Pie Eating Contest at the San Leandro Cherry Festival on Saturday, June 7th, and show off your pie-eating prowess! Whether you're a speed eater or love the taste of cherry pie, this contest is for you.
Space is limited to eight people. The first seven entries will be accepted, and the remaining entries will be waitlisted.

- All participants must be 18 years or older and sign the participation waiver.
- Accepted entrants must check in by 1:30 pm or their space will be given to a waitlisted entrant.
- Hands must be held behind the back during the contest; no hands may be used.
- When a contestant has finished the pie, they must signify by raising both arms into the air.
- Judges will verify that the pie has been completely eaten.

- Eating a pie at a fast rate is a potentially hazardous and uncomfortable activity.
- I should not enter and eat unless I am medically capable.
- This is all in good fun, and I agree to be a good sport.
- I agree to abide by all the contest rules and any decision of the contest officials.
- I assume all risks associated with eating at this type of event, including, but not limited to, indigestion, that stuffed feeling, contact with other contestants, and a general dislike for pie after I am done.
- Video and photos of the event will be taken and may be used for promotional purposes by the organizers.

- In the event of an emergency, we will contact the following person(s) in order presented:
- I acknowledge that I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand that it is a waiver and release of liability. I expressly agree to release and discharge the city of San Leandro and all of its officers, officials, employees, volunteers, agents, attorneys, heirs, representatives, successors and assigns, from any and all claims or causes of action and I agree to voluntarily give up or waive any right that I otherwise have to bring a legal action against the released parties for personal injury or property damage.
- I, the undersigned participant, affirm that I am of the age of 18 years old or older, and that I am freely signing this agreement. I certify that I have read this agreement, that I fully understand its content and that this release cannot be modified orally. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract and that I am signing it of my own free will.
- I will check in by 1:30PM for the contest that begins at 2:00PM. And, I understand that if I fail to check in at 1:30, my space may be given to another contestant.
