2025 March/Parade Application Sunday, June 8, 2025, 12:00 noon By joining together for the 2025 Motor City Pride Festival and Parade, we stand stronger than ever with our solidarity as one community, striving to bring equality and inclusion to all across the country. This application only covers the company/organization completing this form. Additional groups, elected officials, or candidates must submit their own application. The mission of Motor City Pride is: Through the festival, march/parade, and other community events, Motor City Pride works toward our vision of a society characterized by a strong commitment to universal human rights as well as safe communities, workplaces, and schools. Motor City Pride takes our mission seriously. Thus, we only seek involvement from those participants who affirm and support our message: the Parade celebration commemorates and continues the fight against discrimination and the struggle for equality for LGBTQ+ persons and their families. Because we create a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals, we ask all participants to acknowledge that they, individually, and the business/organization they represent, support our mission and the message above when providing an authorized signature on all contracts and registration forms.

Motor City Pride Parade Rules Sunday, June 8, 2025, step off at 12:00 noon Applications are due, May 31, 2025 March/Parade Rules for all Entries
1. All units must check-in between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Griswold North of Lafayette on Sunday, June 8, 2025. All units must be in their assigned lineup position no later than 11:30 a.m. Late arrivals may be repositioned at the end of the parade.
2. The height for floats shall be less than 18 feet.
3. All vehicular entries must complete the Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, and Release form before entering the parade lineup. All requested information must be provided.
4. Police and Fire Department traffic lanes must always be kept open. The law forbids parking vehicles, decorating units, practicing marching routines, and/or forming a waiting group in these lanes.
5. Noise abatement laws forbid any unit to test equipment or play music until they have reached the parade route. Please note that no sound checks may be done until after 10:30 a.m.
6. ALL units must be ready to move on cue, or the next unit will proceed. The delayed unit will proceed only at the next convenient time as determined by the MCP Parade Starter.
7. ALL Parade participants are forbidden to throw anything from their unit. Units may hand items out.
8. Separate units that wish to be grouped together in the parade MUST submit their own application and indicate their desire to parade as a group. All parties wishing to be grouped together must note this on each of their respective applications. All attempts will be made to fulfill your request. Once approved, “No” unit is allowed to participate alone or with any other unit without pre-parade registration with MCP.
9. Any unit entering the parade without pre-registering will be removed immediately.
10. Applicable registration fees must be paid in advance and are nonrefundable.
11. MCP reserves the right to remove all persons from any float or vehicular unit that it determines to be overcrowded to such an extent that the unit may break down or cause injury to participants.
12. Motorized vehicles will not be allowed to enter the plaza after the parade.
13. Any motorized unit that becomes disabled and delays the parade will be removed from the parade route by MCP. Towing expenses for any unit that breaks down will be at the applicant's expense.
14. MCP reserves the right to remove any person or unit from the pre-parade assembly area or during the parade that is deemed to be offensive and/or a hindrance to the progress of the parade, places other participants and/or spectators in physical danger, or violates any of the regulations outlined in this application. (Including any nudity and/or intoxication)
15. ALL entries must abide by the rules and regulations established by MCP and the laws of the city of Detroit and the State of Michigan. Violators are subject to citation and/or removal from the parade route.
16. MCP presents the parade and festival for the public as an educational and entertainment event and reserves all rights as producers. Any reproduction, broadcast, or commercial use of any portion of the event, in whole or in part, in any form without explicit prior written consent from MCP is strictly prohibited. At its discretion, MCP may film, photocopy, or tape any and all portions of the Parade for promotional use.
17. All applicants are responsible for all acts and/or omissions on their part, or on the part of their agents and/or employees, which may result in injury or damage to themselves or third parties. The applicant specifically agrees to hold MCP, the City of Detroit, and Parade staff free and harmless from all claims arising out of any such act or omission.
