About the application

Take part in the Conyers Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7, 2024, 2:00pm. For a small fee, businesses, non-profits and groups of all kinds can apply to participate with a float, antique car, or walking group in the parade.  Applications to participate are due Sunday November 10th by 11 p.m. NO WALKUPS WILL BE ALLOWED THE DAY OF THE PARADE. The Parade will begin at Rockdale High School and end at the Rockdale County Courthouse. The parade is limited to 75 groups/applicants max. 

Parade Contest Information A committee of private citizens, selected in advance by parade organizers, will judge parade entries on the day of the parade. One award per category listed below will be presented.  Winner will be presented a trophy to ride on the float during the parade or carried by a member of the winning organization.  The parade theme is "Holiday Movies".

After you have completed and entered your Parade Registration Form, you will be provided an Entry Number.  This Entry Number MUST BE VISIBLY DISPLAYED as follows:

  1. The number must b plainly written in BLACK marker on a PLAIN, WHITE card stock or poster board, measuring 8.5 in. x 11 in. and not larger than 22 in, x 28 in.
  2. Please provide two copies of your number and place one on each side of your entry in areas that will be easily visible to judges. (NOTE: Walking groups need only carry one copy of their entry number at the beginning of the group.)
  3. Number must be displayed on your entry throughout the entire lineup period to the parade start, and throughout the parade.
  4. If the number is not placed appropriately on the vehicle or if number becomes detached at any point, entry will not be judged.
  5. A trophy will be presented to the winner of each category.  Trophies will be presented prior to the beginning of the parade.

The city of Conyers would like to invite you to participate in the Conyers Christmas Parade. This parade has become a family tradition to so many. This is the perfect opportunity to support your local community and ring in the holiday spirit at the same time. The parade theme is HOLIDAY MOVIES. Prizes awarded for the best entries. Invite your family and friends out December 7th at 2pm and enjoy creating wonderful memories as the parade rolls down Main Street bringing holiday fun to everyone.

Terms & Conditions

(Please communicate rules to all members of your parade entry!)NOTE: CHECK YOUR EMAIL FOR UPDATES PRIOR TO PARADE DAY.  THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE.  ANY CHANGES OR UPDATES TO THE EVENT WILL BE POSTED ON THE OLDE TOWN CONYERS AND CITY OF CONYERS FACEBOOK PAGE. Parade rules and information are designed to remind participants that sometimes even the most innocent actions can provoke significant problems in a crowded area.  The rules are in place to ensure that we have an orderly, safe and joyful parade. 

  1. Only 75 entries will be accepted so be sure to submit a completed application on time and with payment.
  2. All entries must have some type of Christmas decorations to depict difference, fun and/or outrageous decorating ideas around this year's parade theme (Christmas Movies). All the elements of your entry (including vehicles and/ or floats) must be decorated in some way.  This a requirement for entry.
  3. If your entry is being judged, you will need to indicate this on your application in the appropriate space.  Entries will be judged in your lineup position starting at approximately 12:45pm on parade day. This is important as the judging will be done prior to the start of the parade so that prizes and trophies can be awarded.  All decision by the judges will be in good faith and will be final.
  4. Application will not be accepted without the entry fee of $25.00.  Payments will be collected online at the time your application is submitted. We will not accept in person payments. Application fee is non-refundable.
  5. The event is rain or shine.  There will be no rain date for this event.
  6. Each vehicle/ float per group entry will be accessed a fee of $25.00.
  7. Marching and dancing groups may not stop to perform along the parade route.  The parade must keep moving and maintain at least 50 feet between entries.  Conyers Police stationed along the route reserve the right to keep the parade moving.
  8. No live Santa allowed in any parade entry.  The City of Conyers will provide a live Santa for the parade.
  9. All entries are subject to acceptance and approval by the City of Conyers Event Coordinator.
  10. The City of Conyers and Rockdale County Government will not be responsible or liable for any lost or stolen objects or for any accidents that may occur.  There must be a signature of the responsible party on the application.
  11. All horse and animal entries must have someone to pickup the animal droppings before, during and after the parade. Proper tools such as shovels, brooms, and wheel barrows are the only items allowed for cleanup.  If we observe the situation not being handled, the entry will be pulled from the parade.  Failure to comply could jeopardize participation in this parade and future parades.
  12. All entries will control their noise levels.  Any music played must be at normal volume and must be Christmas music.
  13. If additional decorations are done at the assembly area, you must clean up the area before the parade begins.
  14. Vehicles CANNOT be entered for advertising purposes only.  Exceptions are classic cars and municipal floats.
  15. Floats must be under 14 feet in height and 30 feet in length.
  16. No distribution of flyers, pamphlets,or other literature.

The parade staff reserves the right to deny entrance to the parade for:

  • Late arrivals
  • Entries that do comply with the rules.
  • Entries deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
  • Entries that are different than what was represented on the parade application.
