About the application

The Locally Grown area at Taste of Alpharetta is for non-profit and community-centered, non-restaurant organizations that focus on food system education and support. Participating organizations will have the opportunity to engage directly with the community through an interactive booth, display, or demonstration focused on food production, education, and distribution.

 

We have a limited number of booth spaces available for the Locally Grown area, and will accept applicants based on the following criteria:

  1. Organization's relevance to food production, education and distribution 
  2. Entertainment value added to the event
  3. Meeting City's application deadline and guidelines
  4. Production location proximity to Alpharetta.

About the event

Taste of Alpharetta is one of the Southeast's longest-running food festivals. More than 40,000 foodies, fans, and families will gather in downtown Alpharetta to savor food from more than 60 restaurants. Taste of Alpharetta also includes live music on multiple stages, a Kids Zone, and the Locally Grown area, which features top organizations offering hands-on activities and demonstrations on the food system. Admission is free. Fans purchase TasteBucks food credits through the event's website or mobile app and redeem them at participating restaurant booths to make food purchases.

Terms & Conditions

GENERAL INFORMATION & AGREEMENT

By reading the information below and submitting this online Locally Grown Application & Agreement, you are agreeing to abide by all rules and regulations set forth by the event organizers in the 2025 Taste of Alpharetta and made a part hereof by reference.

 

1) LOCALLY GROWN BOOTH SPACE IS LIMITED. The Taste of Alpharetta committee will review each application and notify the organization of acceptance to the festival by email by April 8, 2025.

 

The Taste of Alpharetta committee has control over the applications accepted to the festival and reserves the right to limit booths of similar type. ALL DECISIONS OF THE COMMITTEE ARE FINAL.

 

Please understand the City of Alpharetta is unable to discuss acceptance or non-acceptance by telephone or email. 

 

2) ONLY ACTIVITIES AND DISPLAYS indicated on this application can be featured at the event. The vendor/participant must be present at the event booth throughout the festival unless other arrangements have been made with festival organizers. Vendors/participants must describe/list on the application all activities to take place and items to be sold for Taste Bucks at the festival. If a vendor/participant conducts activities or features displays that were not listed on the application OR has misrepresented their organization in any way, the festival organizers reserve the right to ask the organization to leave the festival.

 

3) RAIN OR SHINE the Taste of Alpharetta will be held.

 

4) A 10’ x 10’ BOOTH SPACE, including a tent, one 6' table, and two chairs, will be provided to each vendor/participant unless a larger space is requested and approved in advance. Please make sure to bring battery-operated lights to illuminate your booth space after dark. Electric and special requests must be submitted in advance on this application and are not guaranteed.  

 

5) BOOTH ASSIGNMENT will be completed and emailed prior to the event. We will try our best to accommodate special requests.

 

6) PRIOR TO THE EVENT, you will be e-mailed details regarding the event load-in and set-up instructions, along with a LOAD-IN PASS to drive onto the festival site for unloading. VEHICLES WITHOUT THIS PASS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ONTO THE EVENT SITE. This information packet will also provide details on designated vendor parking areas, general festival operational details, and load-out information.

 

7) FOOD TASTINGS: Any food tastings offered must be part of an educational experience and limited to small sample sizes or for take-home use (i.e. fresh ingredients) ONLY. All food-handling MUST follow food safety guidelines: https://bit.ly/FoodFestSafetyGuide. Hand washing stations at each booth conducting food prep and sampling are required.

 

8) ALL BOOTHS MUST BE READY BY 4:45 PM as festival patrons always arrive early to this event. Locally Grown Vendors/participants MUST keep their booths open from 5-10 PM. Please do not begin breaking down booths prior to 10 PM. 

 

9) ALL TRASH, PAPERS OR BOXES must be placed in a dumpster. Please reference an event map that evening for the location of dumpsters.

 

10) TICKET REDEMPTION/PAYOUT (If applicable): All Locally Grown sales at the Taste of Alpharetta must be made using Taste Bucks, the event's digital-based currency for consumers to make purchases from participating booths. If your booth involves sales of samples, products or activities to attendees, you must download the Taste of Alpharetta app and use this as the method of payment. Activities/items may not be exchanged for cash or any other credit card POS or money transfer app. 

 

Your application should include details on any samples/products to be sold and the proposed cost. Only items approved by the event can be sold /offered at the event. Taste Bucks are valued at $1 per ticket.

 

All Taste Bucks tickets will be electronically processed - you will need a minimum of two (2) mobile devices (phone, tablet, etc.), per 10x10 space on the day of the event dedicated to ticket processing. 

 

The full amount (100%) that you take in will be passed through to your business/organization with a check from the City of Alpharetta post-event. A W-9, Vendor Form, and online registration must be completed and returned to receive this payment. 

 

11) THE CITY OF ALPHARETTA cannot be responsible for the loss or damage of merchandise.

 

12) LIABILITY WAIVER AND RELEASE: Vendors/participants assume all responsibility for, and risks and hazards of, participation in the rental activity planned by the organization. In consideration of the City of Alpharetta providing permission to use the space requested, vendors/participants and all members of the rental group, do hereby release the City of Alpharetta, including all officials, officers, employees, sponsors, organizers, supervisors, volunteers, participants, and all other agents, of any and all claims, demands, rights, and causes of action of whatever kind and nature, arising from and by reason of, and all known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen, bodily and personal injuries, damage to property, and the consequences thereof, resulting from participation in the rental activity planned in the City of Alpharetta.

Handwashing Station Purchase - REQUIRED for any food prep/sampling. You can bring or purchase $35.00 Non-refundable Each restaurant participating is required to provide a hand-washing station for your booth set-up. Restaurants may bring their own handwashing station items (preferred) or purchase these from the City. Station items include: 2.5 gallon water dispenser, catch bucket, soap, and one roll of paper towels.
Point of Sale Device Rental $120.00 Non-refundable If you will be selling samples, products or activities at your booth, you must accept Taste Bucks through a mobile device with service. If you do not have a personal device, you may rent one from the City.

  • Special Requests (The City of Alpharetta will make every effort to accommodate special requests within the space of our festival, however, special requests are not guaranteed.)
  • For nonprofits, please upload a copy of your 501c(3).
  • If you intend to collect Taste Bucks for your products or services at this event, please register as a vendor through the City's online portal at https://mss.alpharetta.ga.us/MSS/Vendors/default.aspx to receive your pre-tax sales after the event. If you do not do this, the City of Alpharetta will not be able to issue your funds to you.
  • If you will be selling items for Taste Bucks, you must upload a copy of your Occupational Tax Certificate (aka Business License)..
  • If you intend to collect Taste Bucks for your products or services at this event, please attach a copy of your completed W-9 if you have not already done so a previous year or your details have changed.
  • Food safety is one of our highest priorities for this event, as detailed in the DPH standards outlined here: http://bit.ly/FultonCoHealth. You may provide your own handwashing station or purchase one from the City, as they are MANDATORY for organizations serving edible items. Required: Paper towels, hand soap, 2.5 gallon water with spigot to wash hands, and 5 gallon discard bucket.
