Art Fair in Liberty, Missouri. Fine artists and makers will bring their beautiful work to Liberty! Dedicated and separate areas for Fine Art and the Makers Market. Located in the parking lots and on Main Street, next to The Artisan Market at 118 N Main Street, Liberty.

About the application

Welcome to Art on the Side located in beautiful Historic Downtown Liberty.  We will have 6 available spaces for emerging artists. Emerging Artists: This is a highly competitive category. -The emerging art category is intended for NEW artists that have never done a festival or juried show before. These positions will be announced after the April 15th jury.
 
Event date: Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 8am to 5pm. Set-up begins at 6:30am. Art on the Side will happen "rain or shine". Browse through our application and let us know if you have any questions.
 
This is an electronic agreement and by completing the application, you are validating and approving this agreement electronically.  All work displayed in the booth must be for sale.
  • Clay: Original work, functional or sculptural.
  • Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable, original designs only.  
  • Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted.
  • Jewelry: Original designs, no resale items.
  • Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal.
  • Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece.
  • Musical Instruments: Handmade instruments.
  • Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature.
  • Photography: Includes traditional film photography, hand-colored images, emulsion transfers, and digital photography. Only artist’s original source material and prints made from the original source are acceptable.
  • Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered.
  • Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium.
  • Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting, and digital works. Reproduction prints from original art is permitted.
  • Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.

Terms & Conditions

RULES AND REGULATIONS: The following rules and policies are provided to ensure fairness to all participating artists and to the buying public. Any failure to comply will result in immediate removal from the Fair.
 
Applying Emerging Artists:
  • -All applicants must be 18 years or older. If under 18 a parent must sign the form and accompany the artist at the fair.
  • -The artist (if under 18 must be with adult guardian) must be present for the entire event from 8am to 5pm.
  • -Work displayed on site will be consistent with the work shown in the digital images submitted
  • .-All work - in every category - must be the original work produced by the exhibiting artist.
  • -Work which has been produced with commercially-acquired kits, commercial patterns, plans, prefabricated forms or other commercial methods is not permitted.
  • SALES:  Each artist is responsible for collecting and paying Missouri sales tax. It is the responsibility of each artist to return payment to the Missouri Tax Revenue Service. Art on the Side does not require an artist to pay any commissions.
  • BOOTH SPACES: Each emerging artist is sponsored and will be supplied with a 10'X10' exhibition space and canopy, which is assigned by the Art on the Side Committee. Participants are expected to bring their own tables, chairs, display racks and any booth support materials. Electricity is not provided for this show.
  • INSURANCE: Accepted artists (or guardian) must have proof of event insurance or sign a hold harmless waiver.
  • This event is rain or shine.
