Alexandra Stamson is a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Connecticut. She holds an M.A. in Philosophy, an M.A. in WGSS, a B.A. in Philosophy, and a B.A. in Media and Communication. She has also lectured in Philosophy at Purchase College since 2021. Alex works in social epistemology and feminist/queer theory, examining the ways that certain political, technological, and social environments can impact the way that we understand ourselves. Alex also works on gender/sexuality representation in popular fiction, bringing philosophy and media theory together in a way that critiques the impact that narratives have on our social experiences.
