Andrew Valdez works as a geologist at Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve. He as a valley native who grew up on a farm near Capulin. Family outings into the San Juan Mountains lead to a fascination with mountains and a curiosity about how they form. That lead to him studying geology at Adams State College.
