Join us as Suwanee Celebrates America 250 with a festive evening honoring our nation’s 250th birthday! This community concert brings neighbors together for a patriotic celebration in Town Center Park. The evening will feature live music on stage (lineup to be announced soon), family-friendly fun, and a red, white, and blue atmosphere worthy of this historic milestone. Pack your lawn chairs, wear your stars and stripes, and join us as we celebrate 250 years of American spirit, freedom, and community: Suwanee-style.

About the application

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary by sharing your best homemade cake in the Suwanee Celebrates America 250 Blue Ribbon Cake Contest!

 

From classic layer cakes and pound cakes to family recipes passed down through generations, bakers of all ages are invited to compete for blue ribbon bragging rights. Entries will be judged on taste, appearance, texture, creativity, and overall presentation.

 

Whether your recipe is rich with tradition or topped with patriotic flair, we invite you to bring your sweetest creation to this all-American celebration!

Terms & Conditions

  1. Contestants must submit one completed homemade cake for judging.
  2. All cakes must be homemade and prepared by the contestant. Store-bought cakes are not permitted.
  3. Contestants may submit only one cake entry.
  4. Entries must be dropped off at Suwanee City Hall (330 Town Center Avenue) by 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 9. Late entries will not be accepted.
  5. Cakes must arrive on a disposable platter, board, or container. Containers and serving utensils will not be returned.
  6. Contestants must provide a complete list of ingredients on the application, including any potential allergens. Common allergens include milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, and gluten.
  7. Cakes requiring refrigeration must be identified in advance and kept chilled until drop-off. Contest organizers are not responsible for food safety issues resulting from improper storage or transport.
  8. Entries must be fully assembled and ready for presentation and judging.
  9. Contest staff may cut and plate cakes for judging purposes.
  10. Judging will be based on taste, appearance, texture, creativity, decorating, and overall presentation.
  11. Judges’ decisions are final.
  12. By entering, contestants grant the City of Suwanee permission to photograph their cake, recipe title, and likeness for promotional purposes related to Suwanee Celebrates America 250.
  13. By participating, the overall winners grant the City of Suwanee permission to post the name and recipe of the winning cake as part of a partnership with Suwanee Magazine.
  14. Contestants must comply with all instructions from event staff.
  15. The City of Suwanee reserves the right to refuse any entry that does not meet these guidelines or is deemed inappropriate for a family-friendly event.
  16. The City of Suwanee reserves the right to modify contest rules, judging criteria, or schedules if necessary.
