About the event

The Suwanee Summer Porch Jam was started as part of Make Music Day — an international celebration of music! Launched in 1982 in France, it is held on the Summer Solstice every year in more than 750 cities in 120 countries. Suwanee decided to move our event and keep it on the Friday before the Summer Solstice each year. Summer Porch Jam will have the feel of an old-fashioned summer block party. Featuring food trucks and beer and wine, musicians will be playing outdoors at multiple venues throughout Old Town Suwanee. Attendees are invited to bring a chair or blanket and stroll from venue to venue, enjoying a variety of musicians! Parking is available at Town Center and a shuttle departs from Town Center on Main AND Town Center Park to one of 4 stops along the way. Venues include Huthmakers, The Everett's Music Barn, Mayor Burnette's porch, Suwanee Circle, Burnette Rogers Pavilion, and other porches in the Old Town area! The event is free, and so is the transportation!

About the application

We are now accepting applications for performers at the City of Suwanee's Summer Porch Jam!

Summer Porch Jam is one of our most unique annual events and a great opportunity to showcase all the local talent that Suwanee has to offer! The event spans several venues (porches) throughout the Old Town area.

Some notes about performing at Summer Porch Jam:

  • Solo acts, duos, trios, and full bands are encouraged to apply.
    • Please note that performances with more than 4 people are limited, due to porch sizes, but we still encourage full bands to apply!
  • Time slots range from 15 minutes to 1 hour (most performances are 30 minutes).
    • An application does NOT guarantee a time slot.
  • Please note that Summer Porch Jam does not charge for admission; performers are generally not paid to perform at this event.
    • We do, however, offer a small stipend to performers who wish to be paid. Please see the application questions for more details.
    • All performers are encouraged to set up tipping stations (instrument cases, posted Venmo QR codes, etc.) during their performance.
  • All performances must be family- and little ears/eyes-friendly.
  • Performers who wish to sell merchandise during and following their performance may do so but should provide their own personnel to manage sales.
  • Stage plots and other special needs must be coordinated with city staff before event day.
  • This is a rain-or-shine event, but fear not! Most porches are covered!
