Outhouse Showdown!
We invite you to be a part of our 2026 Founders' Day Outhouse Showdown. As we prep for a full return of the Outhouse Races in 2027, we will be hosting an Outhouse design competition in conjunction with the Paddys Day Parade.
You'll design and build your outhouse using the regulations below. All entries will be part of the parade and judged for the winnings.
All outhouses must complete an entry form with the Paddy Parade and follow their rules. Since the parade route will be longer than a race, we strongly encourage each outhouse to be on a trailer or float.
Rules & Regulations-
Structure:
1. Racer must resemble an outhouse. Creativity is encouraged. Please make it family friendly.
2. Outhouses are to have 4 walls, a roof, a doorway and an seat with at least one hole. It may also have a door, but the door MUST be secured Open during the parade. Height not to exceed 8 ft.
3. No glass
4. Outhouse must be human powered. No pedals, chains or engines. No mechanical assistance.
5. No outhouse will be designed or constructed with the intent of disabling another outhouse.
6. This is a race, not a demolition derby. (Just a parade this year!)
Teams:
1. A team shall consist of three people. One must ride inside.
2. Clothing and shoes should be chosen for safety. It can be creative and outrageous, but not provocative.
3. More information on teams will be released next year when the race actually occurs.
4. For parade purposes, members of your group, organization or family may ride on the float (trailer) with the Outhouse. All rides must abide by parade rules.
5. Prizes will be awarded before the parade begins. More information to follow.
