Internship Opportunity – Non-Profit Operations Intern

 

We are seeking two motivated and dedicated interns to join our team! This unpaid internship is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about community impact and eager to learn the ins and outs of working within a non-profit organization.

 

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in event planning, community outreach, administrative support, vendor communication, and day-to-day nonprofit operations. This role is ideal for students or emerging professionals who want to build real-world skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and work closely with a mission-driven team.

 

The durartion of this Internship would be from January - May (or end of your semester). There may be an opportunity for further internship positions following the conclusion of this one. 

 

Important Requirements:

  • This is an unpaid internship.
  • Interns must be able to work on-site at our Downtown Fayetteville office.
  • Interns must be available to attend and assist at the Dogwood Spring Festival taking place April 24–26.

What You’ll Learn & Do:

 

  • Assist with planning and organizing community events and the Dogwood spring festival.
  • Support communication with vendors, partners, and volunteers
  • Participate in administrative and behind-the-scenes operational tasks
  • Learn how a non-profit functions from planning to execution
  • Gain professional development experience in communication, coordination, and project management

By applying for and accepting an internship with the Dogwood Festival Foundation, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

 

  1. Non-Profit Status: The Dogwood Festival Foundation is a registered non-profit organization. As such, our operations rely heavily on community support, donations, and limited funding resources.
  2. Unpaid Internship: The Foundation recognizes that interns should ideally be compensated for their time and contributions. However, due to current budget limitations, we are unable to offer paid internship positions at this time. This internship is strictly unpaid, and no wages, stipends, or financial compensation will be provided.
  3. Mutual Benefit: Our goal is to ensure that this internship is equally beneficial for both the intern and the organization. Interns will receive hands-on experience in non-profit operations, event planning, community outreach, and professional development.
    If there are specific skills, experiences, or projects you would like to gain during your internship, we encourage you to communicate those interests so we can support your goals whenever possible.
  4. On-Site Participation: Interns must be able to work in person at our Downtown Fayetteville office during scheduled hours and participate in required events, including the Dogwood Spring Festival (April 24–26).
  5. Professional Conduct: Interns are expected to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respectwhile representing the Foundation. All tasks and responsibilities are to be completed to the best of your ability.
  6. Educational & Experiential Purpose: This internship is designed to provide meaningful learning opportunities. It does not constitute an employment relationship and does not guarantee future employment with the Dogwood Festival Foundation.
