The Millcreek Arts Council is working in collaboration with the Millcreek Library to resume our community monthly visual art display.
Paid Gig! We pay $100 for one musician or $125 for a group.
This 45 minute gig is background music for a reception where conversations and socializing take place in the area. Additionally, we will fund a reception, open to the public, with refreshments and music.
We’re looking for:
- Local Millcreek City musicians (not required to apply or play but we like to shout-out locals)
- Ok with playing background music during an art event
- Can set-up and take-down quickly

1. How do I contact the “Gettin Visual at the Library” committee?

2. Where is the library located?
Millcreek Community Library
2266 E. Evergreen Ave
Salt Lake City, 84109
- Easiest loading /unloading is in the parking lot immediately east of the library. Enter through the main doors into the rec center/library
3. What is involved with the reception?
- The reception is usually scheduled from 6-7 PM on the first Friday of the month. Exceptions are made when the library is closed or it is a holiday weekend. In this case it is held on the second
Friday of the month. - The musician should be playing at a volume appropriate for a mingling event (think cocktail party) for the event. Musicians may want to consider supplying their own light amplification for acoustic instruments/vocals
4. Can I sell CDs or have a tip jar?
- The library does not allow for money to be exchanged within the library. You can have business cards and information about your website that the library can distribute.
5. How is the event marketed?
- The musician can provide a bio, picture and or website to the Library Art Coordinator and/or the Millcreek Arts Council Visual Artist Liaison and the information will be published on a poster at
the library and in the Millcreek City e-newsletter. Information should be supplied by the 15th of the prior month.
6. How am I paid for the event?
- The Treasurer of the Arts Council will send you a payment via Venmo @Millcreekarts $100 for a single musician or $125 for a group
- Other payment can be arranged in advance
