About the event

Tekko is Pennsylvania's largest anime convention, attracting nearly 12,000 unique and diverse fans from across the country (and world!) to the region. We aren't just any old anime convention, though. We offer so much more by featuring Japanese arcade games, J-rock, J-fashion, Japanese pop culture, and education in our programming. Additionally, we choose a unique theme every year to explore new content, such as wrestling, mecha, sports, and more. This makes us one of the most diverse anime and Japanese culture conventions in the country, and we aren't done expanding yet! Tekko is presented by a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society (PittJCS) . We've been bringing fans together for more than 20 years at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

About the application

In the Craftsmanship Contest, cosplayers are judged on the construction of their costume in a private, scheduled interview with a panel of experienced judges.

Please review all of the rules below before registering for this competition. They can be found here: https://tekko.us/cosplay#info---rules

If you are entering as a group, please submit only ONE form. The person submitting will be responsible for sharing the necessary information to the other group members.

Terms & Conditions

Please read the rules here https://tekko.us/cosplay#info---rules.

I agree to abide by all contest rules. To the best of my knowledge, the costume I am entering is eligible to compete. I will do my best to present my costume truthfully to the judges.

I understand that while build books (reference images, work-in-progress photos, additional written info on my costume etc) are not required, they are immensely helpful for the judges to fully and accurately evaluate your costume. It is highly recommended to bring your build book to your judging appointment.

If I decide not to compete and withdraw my application, I will notify the organizer audrey.wu@pittjcs.org as soon as possible. This is a courtesy to waitlisted applicants. Failure to do so may affect my eligibility to compete in future craftsmanship contests.

If you have any questions, please email audrey.wu@pittjcs.org or cosplay@teamtekko.us
