About the event

Fayetteville Comic Con is a firmly established, twice annual pop culture convention held in April and October of each year at the Crown Expo Center in Fayetteville, NC. We represent the best in geek culture and focus on community over commodity. Offering vendors, artists and celebrity guests from comic books, anime, horror, cosplay, gaming, movies and other pop culture fandom, "If It's Geek, We Got It!"

About the application

Fayetteville Comic Con will be hosting an Up and Coming Cover Artist Challange as part of our Spring Show, April 27th and 28th.

 

As part of that challange, we are seeking applicants who are interested in doing a one of a kind cover for G.I. Joe 301.

 

Professionals - This one is not for you. We will open a seperate contest shortly for professional comic artists. This one is for the up and comers!

 

The rules are simple. Obtain a blank sketch cover variant of G.I. Joe 301 from Image Comics at you local LCS and let your creativity flow. If it is easier, you can get a copy from us and we will mail it to you (see below). Buy a ticket to the show here as part of the application. Bring your cover to the show and turn it in for judging either Saturday or NLT 11:00 AM on Sunday. Judging will be done by Larry Hama, Jim Shooter, Michael Watkins, Ron Rudat and Brian Shearer. The winning cover will then be signed by you and Larry Hama and authenticated and sent to CGS for grading and encapsulation. The slab will be returned to you, free of charge.

 

All other submissions will be photographed and photos published on our social media. Originals will be auctioned off for charity after the show.

The Fayetteville Comic Con Fall 2023 Show sponsored by Raleigh Llama Productions, Inc. DBA Fayetteville Comic Con, Inc., being held at the Crown Expo Center, 1960 Coliseum Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28306 including April 26th (Set-Up and Select Events), April 27th and April 28th, 2023, the individual(s) agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, defend, release, and forever discharge Raleigh Llama Productions, Fayetteville Comic Con, Inc., the Cumberland County Civic Center Commission, OVG360, Oak View Group, and their agents, representatives, and employees, and any person or persons under its direction and control from, and waive any and all responsibility of same, for any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, loss or expense (including costs and attorneys’ fees), loss or damage of any kind whatsoever imposed by law upon the same for damages because of bodily injury, including death at any time resulting there from, sustained by any person or persons, or on account of damages to property, including loss of use thereof, arising out of or in consequence of the performance of this agreement, provided such injury to persons or damage to property results from and is caused by the negligent or willful acts or omissions of Raleigh Llama Productions, Fayetteville Comic Con, Inc., the Cumberland County Civic Center Commission, OVG360, Oak View Group, its officers, agents, employees, or any person or persons under its direct supervision and control.
