About the event

Join the City of Lilburn as we present our Christmas Parade down Main Street! Santa and all of his helpers will participate in this annual Lilburn tradition. The parade will makes its way down Main Street ending in Lilburn City Park for the lighting of the big tree!

About the registration

GENERAL PARADE INFORMATION:

The City of Lilburn proudly presents the annual Lilburn Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Saturday December 3, 2022.  The parade starts at 4 pm and will travel down Main St., ending at Railroad Ave.  The route is about 1 mile long and all participants are required to complete the entire route.

After the parade join us in Lilburn City Park for performances by local school and church groups, visit with Santa, take a train ride around the park, and helps us countdown to the lighting of the big tree located beside the bandshell.

 

PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of the City of Lilburn Christmas Parade is entertainment value and to highlight local community-members, performers, and groups.

 

PARADE STAGING/INSTRUCTIONS:  Staging locations and event load in instructions will be emailed to the application contact closer to the event date.

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER:  Please note that if weather does not permit parade to take place on December 3rd all applicants will be notified at least 24 hours in advance.  You can check updates at www.cityoflilburn.com or Facebook @CityOfLilburn.

 

ENTRY FEE:  

  • Entry fees will be charged to your credit card once your application has been reviewed and approved.  
  • You will recieve an email once your application has been approved.
  • Entries providing an entertainment value/float, as deemed by the City of of Lilburn- $35  
  • Commercial Entries (not providing an entertainment value) $150.  
  • Parade Sponsors - Free, If you are interested in being an event sponsor please contact jminnoia@cityoflilburn.com
  • Military or Public Safety units- Free
  • Lilburn Schools- Free (Marching bands, Drill teams, clubs and sports teams)

Terms & Conditions

PARADE PARTICIPANT RULES/INFORMATION:

  • Each entry must submit a seperate application
  • All entries should provide an entertainment value (decorated float, costumed walkers, etc).
  • All entries must be approved by the City of Lilburn and must abide by parade rules.
  • Entertainers should not stop to perform routines and should keep moving along the parade route.
  • All participants may display the logo, name, and location of their orgainization/business.  However, only entries that have paid the commercial fee may display an advertisement.
  • No entry may use Santa Clause.  Santa will have his own float in the parade.
  • Please do not start tossing candy until your group is on Main Street to be sure you have enough candy for the entire parade route.
  • If tossing candy do not toss in the street.  Walkers can pass out candy at the sidewalks.
  • If your group includes participants under the age of 18, the organizational representative completing the parade application is responsible for these participants.
  • Participants riding in vehicles or floats must provide their own vehicles and drivers.  Insurance and liability are the responsibility of the participants.
  • The maximum float size is 15' wide x 12' high x 30' long.
  • Floats should be fire retardent and have a proper fire extinguisher on board.
  • All floats should have hand-holds for standing participants and/or secure seating.
  • Vans, cars, and trucks are allowed if they meet one of the following criteria:  Pulling a float, Classic vehicle at least 25 years old (unless part of an official car club entry), carrying beauty queens or government officials, or a paid commercial entry.
  • Support vehicles for walking units or marching bands are discouraged.
  • All equestrian or animal entries must provide their own cleanup crew.  Animals must be kept under control at all times and are not permitted to enter the spectator area.
  • The Lilburn Police Department and Lilburn Christmas Parade organizers reserve the right to refuse any participants found to be not abiding by the parade rules or those deemed a safety concern.

Prices

Commercial/Business Entry No Entertainment $150 Any business that will be promoting/marketing in the parade not providing an entertainment value.

Non School Group- Dance Team, Scouts, Athletic Organizations $35 This includes non profit organizations, dance schools, scouts, athletic associations, homeowner associations, churches, etc.
School Group- Band, Athletics, Clubs $0
Military or Public Safety $0 No fee is charged for this category.
Approved Event Sponsor $0 This selection is for Event Sponsors who have already completed the sponsor form, been approved by the City of Lilburn, and made their sponsorship donation.

  • Indemnification. Parade participants shall indemnify and hold harmless the City of Lilburn, its agents, employees, and public officials from and against any and all claims, damages, losses and liabilities whatsoever their nature, cause of origin, and whether or not atrributable to the negligence of parade participant, its agents, contractors or employees or to the use or occupancy of the designated area or any other portion of the City of Lilburn by parade participants, its agents, employees and invitee. I agree to abide by all parade rules listed in this application.
