Handmade, wheel thrown ceramic flower vase with a decorative orange and yellow ovals on ovals surface motif. This tall vase looks great with or without flowers, with its unusual shape and brightly colored pattern. The outside of the vase is hand painted with orange and yellow flashing slips and glazed with deep brown Tenmoku. The inside is glazed with a white shino glaze. It was soda fired, creating a beautiful color bleed effect.

I make functional pottery with the aim of bringing beauty and pleasure into a person’s daily life. My pottery usually starts on the wheel and is further embellished by hand. My objective is to have every piece I make reflect my aesthetic and the unpredictable nature of the soda firing process. My goal is to create work that honors and continues the long tradition of handmade pottery.
