With this piece I’ve tried to emphasize the importance of having compassion for yourself. Just as the dove is returning to her nest with more twigs to strengthen it, we should also be taking the time to refortify ourselves and to build ourselves up. And I hope that a real sense of tenderness can be felt, I definitely worked hard to convey that. And of course, the clock is center stage and I purposely set it to just before eight - with a sky that suggests that it’s still morning. So the day is young. It’s a fresh start. And I’d like to think this works hand and hand with the idea of selfcare. Today is the day to focus on yourself and your self-worth. But I also hope it goes beyond that, and into the broader idea of how the beauty of life comes from the passage of time. And how it’s important that we do the best we can with the time we have. :)
