I adorned the bull with pearls, antique lockets, and other feminine touches then set them in a field of dandelions. I liked the juxtaposition of the softness, beauty and fragility with the immense strength and weight of the bull. There is a pretty wide range of reactions that I’ve received from those who’ve been kind enough to share their thoughts with me - love, nostalgia, romance, sex, sexuality, gender, heartbreak, loss, etcetera. The wonder of art is how we all have the ability to connect with a piece in a very specific way depending on our own life experience. I think with this piece that sort of thing is emphasized because the combination of love being such a strong force in our lives, and just the sheer amount of details and vignettes in both the bull and the field of dandelions.
