It's a watercolor painting on Arches cotton paper. It's pretty big for this sort of thing- 18.5" x 24.5". Unframed for now, but I'll frame it for the festival, of course.
Here's the story with this one: The idea of painting living things with vertical colors is from Rabo Karebekian, one of the under-appreciated original Abstract Expressionists. He's also a fictional creation of Kurt Vonnegut Jr., so that's probably why.
There's some other, looser Vonnegut references in here, too. Can you find them? The background is architecture from pre-war Dresden, btw.

I use watercolors to paint mostly robots, but also souls and animals and whatever else pops into my mind and seems like it's worth 10 to 60 hours of my focused energy. It's thrilling if people like my art enough to hang up in their homes. Though, logically, it makes perfect sense because I would.
