Dumpster Dive

Crawford Steel is a steel service company in Chicago's Southwest side. For years, their huge industrial building was always being tagged by gang bangers, creating an uncomfortable eye sore for employees and customers. When owner Michael Isaacs learned that high quality murals were left alone out of respect, he had an epiphany, and started down a surprising and enlightened path that would transform the Crawford Steel building into what has been called Chicago’s Sistine Chapel of graffiti. (However, Dumpster Dive is not an example of a high quality mural...) My images are long exposures at night while lighting the scene with battery powered colored lights. Through my lighting I try to create theatrical and whimsical versions of the world around me. The artwork for sale is a museum quality, ready-to-hang metal print. My Metal prints are of the highest quality and have a magical luminescence. Their vibrant, saturated colors jump off the wall, and will last for generations. They are created by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets making them incredibly durable and scratch resistant.
