Jeff Leedy is a fine artist who makes you laugh. Wait! You’re not supposed to lauhg at ART, are you?
Whether you crack up at "Counsel Approaching The Bench" or "Dogus Interruptus", Jeff Leedy's art just makes people happy. One customer quipped,
" I laughed so hard, I forgot I was an attorney."
Leedy began a 15-year career in advertising after being told, "Advertising is the most fun you can have with your clothes on." They lied. Several big ad agencies (Y&R, NYC) used his talents culminating in winning a Clio, the “Oscar” of advertising. Later, he freelanced as a humorous illustrator for eight white-knuckle years.
“God gave me this strange set of contact lenses
and this is how I see life.”
Then, two events happened. First, Leedy won—the gold medal from the NY Society of Illustrators Humor Show, besting 3500 international entries. And second, he was accepted into the Sausalito Art Festival, (#1 outdoor art festival) for 18 years. His wife & business partner, Elaine, states he’s sold over 350,000 of his works so far. Then he asks, “So, where’s the money?” Not a pretty laugh.
His two former galleries, Art That Makes You Laugh© in Sausalito and Mendocino, CA. & the hundreds of juried outdoor art shows have spread his reputation. Add to that a slew of humorous commissions of family members or pets for many customers.
Leedy feels that it is his mission to share this gift he was given by God. His serious painting skills plus his humor do make us laugh, actually happy. Leedy’s goal is to create videos to make us all laugh.
