The combination of wood and stone results in the most pristine voicing of any instrument we’ve ever made. Honduran Rosewood itself possesses the most “bell-like” ring quality of any face woods we use, so is a special partner to the marble. Tuned in the bright key of E Major to take full advantage of the pristine ring quality in the upper voice register that is accentuated by the beauty of the Rosewood and stone.
Known for beautiful sound and a nearly two-octave range, arranged in familiar chord groupings, the Concert Chorded 14-Key is wonderful for free musical exploration, yet designed for purposeful advanced song play.
Built to order, we make only a few wood and stone drums each year and they are built one at a time by request. Lead time is typically 2 to 3 weeks upon order.

Hardwood Music
We are a father and son team who build handcrafted melodic drums & musical furniture in a variety of beautiful exotic hardwoods sometimes combining them also with stone & metal. We utilize "open-harmonic" tunings which are designed so that anyone, regardless of skill can enjoy; from the professional musician to the novice music lover. Woods are chosen based on density, elasticity, grain configuration, silica content and appearance. Stone & metals chosen for aesthetic & acoustic properties as well. Work is hand sanded and finishes are hand-rubbed.
* note - we strongly recommend to listen to the various youtube videos with headphones for pure sound.
