All my hats are loom knitted on a knitting machine out of wool yarn. They are then felted in the washing machine until a solid, virtually waterproof fabric forms (yes, wool is magical that way). This creates a very dense but soft material that's crushable and doesn't pill Embellishments vary. The fabric flowers have a pin on the back and are removable. The lace is hand dyed and sewn on.
