Melissa Gay’s favorite themes are exploration and making contact with strange new entities. No surprise, then, that her inspirations are science, folklore, and long hikes in the woods. From her Nashville studio, she paints award-winning book covers and game illustrations. She has a first author credit on a couple of forestry stewardship manuals, has published two art books with a third on the way, and occasionally she ventures forth to write fiction.
Her clients have included publishers such as Baen Books, Llewellyn Worldwide, Hay House, Apex Press, Three Ravens Publishing, and 78 Tarot. She has worked on many fan-favorite and ENnie Award winning tabletop games, such as The Dresden Files, Delta Green, Over the Edge, Trail of Cthulhu, the Dracula Dossier, Part-Time Gods, Mermaid Adventures, Sagaborn, Surviving Strangehollow, Fate Worlds, Hero, the Yellow King RPG, and many others. Her work has been featured in ImagineFX Magazine, io9, tor.com, and several of the Infected By Art anthologies.
