Original oil on canvas framed in "floating" whitewashed wooden frame to expose gallery wrap. Canvas size is 20"H x 30"W. My frames add 3" to the height/width dimensions of the canvas size. Framed dimensions are 23" H x 33" W. Dimensions noted below are for the shipping crate if shipping via FedEx. The mud flats near the Audobon-protected marshes on the Bolivar Peninsula are always a great place for bird watching. I found this heron stalking its breakfast on a winter morning.

I paint in studio with oils on canvas from photographs I take as I travel the coastal South. I have such wonderful memories of growing up at the beach on the Bolivar Peninsula that I am particularly drawn to paint coastal birds, boats and landscapes near the shore. I was born and raised in Beaumont, TX and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from our hometown university, Lamar University. After a career in advertising, I returned to my first love - painting.
