- house made damascus comprised of multiple high carbon steels
- handle scales made of multiple paper micartas
- full tang
- cutting edge 7”
- overall length 11.25”
Some prudence for the buyer:
I would not recommend this knife to someone who cooks professionally or will have it in their hands for multiple hours a day. My focus on the handle was to obtain a specific aesthetic, which in turn disallowed me to shape the handle to make it as comfortable as I typically like to make a kitchen knife. Please don’t read as “this knife is uncomfortable”, it is just not as rounded and ergonomic as my other kitchen knives and I wish to be forthcoming.
The material I used has very little give such as a soft wood handle, and I over fit the scales to protect the integrity of the damascus tang. In other words, the handle scales are a smidge larger than the metal of the handle, so it has a contrasting feel compared to most knives. I spent a significant amount of time test chopping carrots and potatoes and it sincerely did not bother me, I just want to be honest in case you get it into your hands and are surprised at the distinct way it feels.
