Description

This one-of-a-kind design features a hand-cut brass flower, which is comprised of two individual layers of hand-etched brass, which are riveted together. The top layer is raised up, creating dimension around a polished pietersite cabochon, nestled within a brass bezel. Finished with a brass drop, which I hand-etched with a complementing design and another small polished pietersite cabochon. 27-inch long brass chain. This is an eye-catching necklace, is perfect for layering and can easily be dressed up or down. Pietersite is a brecciated aggregate of Tiger’s Eye, and from time to time, it is also referred to as Falcon’s Eye. Pietersite is a stone of many different shades, but the dominant colors are blue and yellow. Discovered in 1962 in Namibia, this stone is relatively rare. There are only two main deposits of Pietersite in the world — Hunan, China and Swakopmund, Namibia. Pietersite reveals the beauty of the soul. It is known as a “storm stone” because of its ability to help whenever there are swift and chaotic changes in life, for example, when you need to rebuild some aspects of your life or transform it entirely. Pietersite instills the ability to see beyond the horizon; it disperses illusion and gives courage to create and appreciate beauty. There is a saying that Pietersite holds the keys of the heavenly gates. This is entirely appropriate as this stone is very spiritual in its nature. Pietersite stimulates the third eye energy center as well as the pineal gland. This, in turn, opens the door for spiritual insights and glimpses into the transcendental world. The exotic look of Pietersite offers a stunning palette of many different colors, such as vivid gold, red, and blue. At times, because of the ability to change colors depending on viewing angle, this stone seems almost alive.

Caleb Barnaby Designs

Caleb Barnaby is a self-taught metalsmith, with a focus in extremely detailed wearable art. He's been traveling throughout the US for the past three years in a travel trailer, which houses his custom-built mobile studio, selling his creations at fine art festivals. Many of his designs are award-winning: intricate flower mandalas made from sterling silver and recycled brass bullet casings with secret messages, crescent moons and mountain ranges hand-cut from the metal. His designs are all inspired by the natural elements around us: blooming wildflowers on the side of the road, the awe-inspiring landscapes he sees along his travels. "Using recycled metals, I apply an intricate etching process to give them an ornate look. All of my etched designs are original and inspired by natural elements (trees, flowers and sacred geometry). After the etching process, I hand-cut the metals to transform them into their final composition. I also use non-traditional stonesetting techniques, where I create my own bezels by forging the metal to set the stone."
