Description
This necklace is perfect for those who always want to feel close to the natural world. I embellished open work, gold metal leaves with crochet and embroidery in green and earth-toned, hand-dyed cotton thread. I then incorporated them into a necklace fashioned of gold metal chain. Shimmering green, pressed glass leaves add another layer of texture and visual interest. A simple, circle toggle clasp secures the chain.
The necklace is about 18 1/2 inches long. The larger leaves are about 1 3/4 inches long and 1 inch wide. The circle with the smaller, dangling leaves, hangs about 2 1/2 inches from the chain. The smaller embellished leaves are just over an inch long and just over 1/2 inch wide.

Gossamer Tangles is an outgrowth of my life-long love of crochet and needle arts. The jewelry I design and make is one-of-a-kind. I find that conceiving a design in my mind and then bringing it to life between my fingers, instills a remarkable mix of wonder, excitement and satisfaction.
Color, texture and imagination, often inspired by my observations of the natural world and works of art, are the key components in my creations.
