D268 Cardinal on Dogwood Sprig

This picture has been discounted (originally $755) because it has been in my private collection for some time. I moved to a smaller house in 2020 and no longer have room for it. I really like the color combinations and the different wood grains. The background veneer has really lovely texture. The mat is natural poplar. However, the bird is made up of several pieces of dyed wood veneers. If you look closely at the flowers you will see little shadows which make them look more realistic. I create this by dipping the veneer pieces in hot sand, charring the wood just a little, thereby creating this more three dimensional look. Lacquer finish. Picture size 19" x 16" Framed size 27" x 23"
