About the event
The City of Alpharetta 2022 Music Match Program wants to book a musician for you! How does it work? 1 - You Complete the Music Match Application 4 weeks prior to your preferred show date(s), up to three (3) different performances, so we have time to book it. 2 -Businesses will be responsible to pay an application fee of $25.00 per show date (+nominal transaction fees), PLUS a free meal to the musicians (up to $20/musician) on the night of the performance Music Match was created to be a partnership between local businesses and the City of Alpharetta to create a vibrant music scene year-round in Alpharetta. This is made possible with a grant from Fulton County Arts & Culture.

How Do You Apply?

  • Submit application no later than 4 weeks prior to your requested show date
  • Chose up to 3 show dates through 2022
    • Musicians cannot be rescheduled for reasons other than weather, and repeat cancellations will risk future participation in the program
    • Please note that submission of application and date requests are NOT guaranteed. Show dates will be granted based on schedule and budget availability on a rolling basis.
  • Shows should be either Thurs 6-8, Fri - Sat 8-10, or Sunday 1-3 or 5-7. Outdoor shows from November-February must have adequate heating for performers. Alternative performance times can be approved.
  •  Businesses will be responsible to pay 50% of each booking through the Eventeny application process after each booking is confirmed. The City is responsible to pay musicians 100% of performance fees at the time of performance through an agreed-upon payment process with musicians directly.
  • By applying for this program you are agreeing to the;
    • Risk Liability Waiver & Release for Music Match
    • Risk Waiver/Release for Communicable Diseases Including COVID-19 

Once Approved, What Happens?

  • After the application is approved, the city will supply your application details to our music producer (Mary Jane Potter of Matildas Music Under the Pines) She will book your musician based on the music style and rate specified by you in the application. 
  • Booking fees will be charged after agreed-upon rates and bookings are confirmed. 
  • The City of Alpharetta will work with booked musicians for their performance compensation.
  • Due to funding and general space provided within businesses, most venues will be limited to soloist performances.
  • City will generate marketing materials for each performance based on date(s) and bands chosen.
    • Each show will be placed on the ACVB Cultural Happenings & Live Music Calendar. 
    • Instagram postings will be done the week of the performance with each business tagged.
    • Businesses are encouraged to promote the show as well. The city can provide graphics for use on Facebook, Instagram, and print collateral upon request.

Night of Performance, You Take It From Here.

  • Your business is the main contact for the musician. Please have someone present who is aware of the production and can follow the City and CDC guidelines.
  • Musicians are to only play in the agreed location set up prior between business and City.
  • Each musician will only be booked for a 2-hour set
  • Performances to be held ONLY on business property and all City codes and CDC guidelines will apply.
  • Business is responsible for all setup and takedown of performance. The City will not supply staging, lighting, or sound equipment.
  • Should a business need to cancel or reschedule the event for any reason, the business will be responsible for paying any subsequent rebooking fees
  • Musicians are told to be self-sufficient – plug and play. They will arrive up to an hour before show time to set up.
  • The business is encouraged to offer a free meal to the musician (up to $20/musician) on the night of the performance.
  • Business will supply 2-3 photos of live performance to City of Alpharetta.

Any businesses that cannot comply with these guidelines and the City codes will not be able to participate in further Music Match programs.
