So You’ve Been Asked to Interview With Eventeny…
Here at Eventeny, it’s important for us to give you the best chance possible at rocking your interviews. So, we prepared a handy guide to help you crush it!
This page details what to expect during our interview processes, timelines, and other helpful hints along the way.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at any time because we really do want you to succeed! We recommend emailing the person who gave you this link.😉
Our interview process generally takes place in 4 stages. Of course, not all applicants will have all four steps! We do have to narrow the list at each stage, so the closer you get to that final decision, the better your chances of getting hired on!
- Resume Submission & Screening
- Email Questions (If you’re receiving this, you are here!)
- First Interview
- Second Interview
- Final Decision*
*Some applicants may have more than two interviews, depending on the position. We’ll definitely keep you updated throughout the process.
Our questions change from person to person but in general, expect anywhere from 5-10 questions in an email from your hiring manager to answer before scheduling your first interview. Please answer these questions fully and to the best of your ability.
We ask that you submit your responses within 48 hours in order to maintain a fair process for everyone. Once you’ve answered all of the questions via email, we will schedule time with you for your first interview.
🤔 What Can I Expect?
You will meet with 2-3 Eventeny team members who will interview you. The interview will be a mix of general and job-specific questions. Make sure to take your time and think about each question before you answer; there are no right or wrong answers here. We want to know how you think, approach problems, and how your skills would be best applied at Eventeny.
Also, we encourage you to come with some questions about us and Eventeny. This interview is just as much about you interviewing us as it is about us interviewing you!
⏱️ How Much Time Should I Block Out?
30-45 Minutes
🖥️ Where Will the Interview Take Place?
We host our interviews over Zoom! Please make sure to have Zoom installed and updated on your computer. We recommend that you are in a quiet space in your office area/home. Make sure that your audio and video work before getting on the call.
✔️ What Do I Need to Have or Know?
Just you, your computer, and something to take notes with (if you want!). It’s always good to look over our website, review our Glassdoor page, our values, and take a look at our social media pages to get more information about the company to gather some questions.
👕 What is the Dress Code?
We recommend dressing for success! Obviously, this is a remote interview and we want you to be comfortable, so there’s no need for a three-piece suit; casual attire is completely acceptable!
🤔 What Can I Expect?
This round is a little more intense. Depending on the role that you’re interviewing for, this interview is going to vary a bit. For customer-facing roles, you’ll go through what we like to call a “product test.”
We’ll have you create an account on Eventeny to make a test account. Take notes and pay attention to details, because you’re going to go through a mock onboarding process! Make a fake event, try out all the features, try to think like an event organizer, and find key talking points that you feel confident in. Your goal is to successfully show the new event organizers how to use the new platform so that they can be successful.
📖 The Scenario
The City of Suwanee emails to troubleshoot on their event home page to add pictures/videos. You've scheduled time with them to understand their problems.
Your goal is to understand and listen to their problem, help them solve their issue, provide some best practices, try to upsell them, and/or identify ways to stay engaged and keep them happy. Be prepared to talk to 3-5 members of Team Eventeny as they ask questions that are commonly asked by our customers. This process should take about 45 minutes!
✏️ What To Study
🙌 Tips for Success
- Ask lots of questions before you even begin sharing your screen. Get to know what exactly it is the event organizers (us) are looking to be shown and let that guide your ‘onboarding’ call.
- Find out what really interests your clients and tailor your responses based on what they (we) are telling you!
- You do not have to go into heavy detail or walk through every single step. Show the new event organizers where everything is, and answer any questions they have. Remember KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly!)
- It’s okay to say that you don’t know! We don’t expect you to know everything, you’re not an expert (yet); we’re really looking for how you interact with customers and how you deal with the unexpected.
- Just remember to be positive, keep the conversation moving, and don’t let the customers (us) shake your confidence. You’ve got this!
