About the event

Eden Altered, featuring mixed media artists Linda Hall and Dimelza Broche, is a whimsical, surreal, imaginative exhibit focusing on the chaos of nature. They explore the beautiful and the macabre with elegance and magic. This visual adventure into an altered Garden of Eden evokes a sense of wonder as viewers experience otherworldly textures, powerful use of color, anthropomorphized creatures, femininity, and exploration of self. Linda Hall is a mixed-media artist from Tallahassee Florida. Her work is often soft sculpture that is comprised of textiles, paper mache, and found materials. These works are engaged in public performances as well as gallery walls. She holds an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her work is collected in a variety of museums throughout the south and her work is exhibited nationally and internationally. Her two and three-dimensional works have also been featured in numerous publications such as Oxford American, New American Paintings, and Five Point literary journal. She also creates public projects such as concerts, plays, processions, and parades. She currently makes her home in Tallahassee, Florida, where she maintains a studio in the historic Smoky Hollow section of town. Dimelza Brocheis a Cuban-American artist residing in Jacksonville, Florida. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Florida and a Master's degree from the University of Georgia. Broche has exhibited her work at Manifest Gallery, Marcia Wood Gallery, Era Contemporary Gallery, The Cummer Museum of Arts & Gardens, and at the S. Dillon Ripley Center, Washington, DC.
