About the event

The Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) hosts Art & Jazz on the Avenue, a celebration of the Pineapple Grove Neighborhood with local business activation, live music performances in multiple locations, artist and vendor booths, children's area and more. Art & Jazz on the Avenue welcomes guests to stroll the Pineapple Grove neighborhood enjoying live entertainment on several stages, performance art, live art mural and art pop-ups, dining in many great restaurants and food vendors. This event will have a focus on Fitness, Healing & Beauty, showcasing the many health and wellness businesses in Pineapple Grove and throughout our Downtown!

About the application

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
 
EVENT DATE & TIMES:
Wednesday, January 25, 2022 (6pm to 9:30 pm)
 
All local businesses in the Pineapple Grove Neighborhood are encouraged to be open during the event hours and activate your business to be welcoming to visitors.
 
IDEAS FOR LOCAL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION:
  1. Local neighborhood businesses/merchants are encouraged to be "Open".  Open store/business doors, invite customers in and offer specials.
  2. Extend merchandise in front of their storefront location; i.e. racks of clothing, items on sidewalk within City guidelines.
  3. NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED OUTSIDE OF STOREFRONT UNLESS BUSINESS SPECIFICALLY HAS A CAFE PERMIT.
  4. Staff booth/tent in front of business with an activation, art or game  (Tents are available below)
  5. Decorate space in keeping with Art & Jazz theme (Pineapple Grove and/or Beauty, Health & Wellness) 
  6. Dress up according to the theme or play theme related music; bring in a performer 
  7. Offer themed drink or appetizer specials 
  8. Partner with another business in your neighborhood block to serve complimentary offerings  (partner with another business to compliment you business)
  9. Offer incentive for shoppers during the night or for a return visit
  10. Offer in-house raffle to visitors
GENERAL RULES to PARTICIPATE FOR FREE!
  1. Register below with your information and plan to be open.
  2. Let us know how you wish to activate
  3. Display Art & Jazz on the Avenue poster in window; distribute rack cards to customers before event
  4. Email your customers to let them know about Art & Jazz on the Avenue event
  5. Businesses/merchants must be open and ready at 5:30 pm; visitors come early even though event runs 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm
  6. Staff and area must remain neat, clean and kept in an orderly fashion.  Conduct and displays must be appropriate.
  7. Remember:  NO CBD Products / Delta 8 Products of any kind permitted at Downtown Development Authority events. 
 
IF YOU WISH TO RENT A TENT FOR ON-STREET ACTIVATION:
 
GENERAL RULES and REGULATIONS:
  1. Register and select 10x10 Tent (Includes tent, table, chairs & light - additional table/chairs will incur additional fees)
  2. Tents will be set up and ready by 4pm for businesses to add their signage, items.  
  3. Businesses must provide Tablecloths, Signage, Products and Displays, along with staff.
  4. Businesses/merchants booths must be ready at 5:30 pm (event runs 6pm to 9:30pm)
  5. Businesses/merchants are responsible for the collection, payment, and reporting of their own sales tax.
  6. Your staff and area must be neat, clean and kept in an orderly fashion.  Conduct and displays must be appropriate.
  7. Someone from your staff must manage the booth/tent before, during and through breakdown.
  8. Remember:  NO CBD Products / Delta 8 Products of any kind permitted at Downtown Development Authority events.
 
Booth Fee: $125 for 10x10 tent, table, chairs and battery light (additional items available for additional fees).  Fees will be charged on credit card provided shortly after DDA's acceptance email is sent.
 
Booth rental requires Certificate of Liability Insurance:  Certificate of Insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 coverage must name the following as additionally insured:

AND
City of Delray Beach, 100 NW 1st Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444
 
SECURITY:   DDA employs event security; however, businesses/merchants in booths are responsible for all valuables and items in your booth. DDA is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen items. 
 
NO SHOW POLICY:  Businesses who have not notified event via phone (561-243-1077) or email ( DDA@downtowndelraybeach.com) by 7:00 am day of event will be considered a NO SHOW.  Assigned space and booth fee will be forfeited subject to DDA review.

Terms & Conditions

By completing this application, artist/vendor acknowledges that they have read and understand the information provided and requirements for participation and agree to the terms herein.

INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMELESS AGREEMENT

By completing this application, Merchant/Business  shall indemnify, defend and save harmless to the extent of its insurance coverage, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and its member entities which consist of the City of Delray Beach (CITY); Business agrees to defend, indemnify and save harmless the Indemnitees, their officers, agents and employees, against any liability arising from or based upon the violation of any federal, state, county or city laws, by-laws, ordinances or regulations, including but not limited Trademark and Copyright Laws by the Contractor, his subcontractors, agents, servants or employees. Business further agrees to defend, indemnify and save harmless the Indemnitees, their officers, agents, or employees from all such claims, fees, and from any and all suits and actions for every name and description that may be brought against the Indemnitees or their officers, agents or employees on account of any claims, fees, royalties, or costs for any invention or patent, and from any and all suits and actions that may be brought against the Indemnitees, their officers, agents or employees for the infringement of any and all patents or patent rights claimed by any person, firm, or corporation.
The indemnification provided above shall obligate the Business to defend, at his/her own expense or to provide for such defense, at the Indemnitees' option, any and all claims or liability and all suits and actions of every name and description that may be brought against the Indemnitees, their officers, agents, or employees which may result from the operations and activities under this Contract whether the work be performed by the Business, his/her subcontractor or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either. This Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement include all costs and fees including attorney's fees and costs at trial and appellate levels.
