About the event

The Schererville Parks' MONTH of Craft Shows has RETURNED! This show is the 2nd, 3rd and 4th weekends in November and welcomes all crafters and vendors but with a CRAFTER priority. These shows offer 3 rounds for patrons to Conquer our Craft Shows. About the application

The Craft and Conquer Craft Shows were created in 2020 in order to give small businesses more opportunities to make a living. If you remember, 2020 had very limited venues available for crafters, vendors and food trucks. So we created Craft and Conquer!
 
Last year, 2022, was our 2nd year for Craft and Conquer since the Governor prohibited large events at the end of 2020! So we decided to continue with our purpose of supporting small businesses and move forward with Craft and Conquer!
 
This event (Craft and Conquer Show #1) seen over 1k+ in attendance in its first year and we are expecting even more in 2022. Such a huge feat for a show in its infant stages.

Terms & Conditions

FEES:   
Refunds will not be given unless the Park Department cancels the event.  Applications and items sold are subject to approval.  No crafter/vendor may sell food or beverage items without the permission of the Recreation Coordinator.  Permission granted for food and beverage sales on a case by case basis (no repeats of businesses, no conflicts with concession, and proof of health permit and insurance naming the TOWN OF SCHERERVILLE, THE SCHERERVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ITS DULY AUTHORIZED AGENTS AND EMPLOYEES as certificate holder are required).  
 
SET UP/TAKE DOWN: 
Set up time is Friday, before craft show date (12pm-7pm). Vendors MUST unload their vehicle completely and move their vehicle to the designated parking area (Redar Park, 217 Gregory St.) A school bus will transport Crafters back and forth from Redar Park to the Community Center.  There will be a staff person checking the unloading area to ensure vehicles are moved in a timely manner.  Take down must be completed by 4:00 pm at the end of event. A set up email will be sent 2 weeks before the event.
 
RULES:  
No live animals permitted in the building.  No decorations may be attached to any wall, metal, or wood surface.  Direct sales businesses will be limited to one vendor per company (based on first come, first served).  No crafter/vendor may sell guns, knives, or items considered weapons.  All merchandise and displays must stay within designated spot.  All tables must have a floor length table cloth for all tables with no boxes, extra merchandise, or debris exposed to common area.  Assigned area must be kept clean throughout the event and all trash must be removed at the end of the event.  No soliciting to other crafters/vendors or patrons through distribution of advertising for anything other than what you are selling in your location.  Crafters/vendors must participate for the full duration of the show.  Those who fail to participate for the full duration of the show will be banned INDEFINITLY from future shows or events with the Schererville Parks Department. Any shows that crafter/vendor has paid for will be forfeited. Not all spaces are guaranteed electricity.  Schererville Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel a show due to insufficient registration. Registration is not complete without payment and a signed contract.  
 
SALES TAX:  
All crafters/vendors are responsible for collecting and remitting all sales tax. 
 
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:  
Applications will be reviewed by the Schererville Parks and Recreation staff on an individual basis. Schererville Parks and Recreation reserves the right to limit the number of vendors selling similar products.  Not all applications may be accepted. Wholesalers, flea market products, or previously worn/used merchandise will not be accepted.  Photos of products and displays will be required with the application either by mail or email to jbarnes@schererville.org  The Schererville Parks and Recreation staff reserves the right to not accept applications for items or displays made with poor craftsmanship, look unprofessional, have too many of a certain category, or any other reason at the discretion of the Recreation Director.
 
DOOR PRIZE DONATION:  
We are asking that all vendors donate an item such as gift basket or merchandise related to their booth for our raffle that will be held throughout the duration of the craft show.  All items must be dropped off at front counter up to 15 minutes before start of show.  This is per show.

Single Space - Indoor Booth - November 18th - 2023 $55 (+ tax and fees) Non-refundable This single booth space is an 8x8 size located inside the Schererville Community Center. There 3 total rooms and hallway where vendors are placed. The hallway spaces are available once all regular booth sizes are filled. Fee includes 8x8 space only for November 18th  Tables are NOT provided, however, two (2) chairs per booth space will be provided. Electricity is limited and subject to approval based upon crafter needs and product. (Space heaters are prohibited)  Larger spaces are available through extra booth rental. Setup Date & Times: Friday, November 17th - 12pm-7pm
Double Space - Indoor Booth - November 18th - 2022 $110 (+ tax and fees) Non-refundable This double booth space is an 16x8 size located inside the Schererville Community Center. There 3 total rooms and hallway where vendors are placed. The hallway spaces are available once all regular booth sizes are filled. Double booths are placed in corners, limited availability. Fee includes 16x8 space only for November 18th  Tables are NOT provided, however, two (2) chairs per booth space will be provided. Electricity is limited and subject to approval based upon crafter needs and product. (Space heaters are prohibited)  Larger spaces are available through extra booth rental. Setup Date & Times Friday, November 17th - 12pm-7pm
