About the application

Thank you for your interest in participating in LeMoyne's "Focused Moments" exhibit! This exhibit will feature photography and poetry by Stanley Johnson, Cynthia Rose and Katie Clark, emphasizing the need to focus on the moments that bring beauty, peace, and joy to our souls.
 
Open call to photographers and photo-based graphic artists. Photographers that have related poems are welcome to submit the poem with the corresponding photo (attach to the application or email to powell@lemoyne.org). Poems will need to be framed/ easy to mount on our walls (frame color should match). See the attachment in the application for the ideal poem format. 
 
ALSO! During the same exhibit, we will also be hosting "BREWtiful Designs", an exciting can-art label competition, judged by PROOF Brewing Co., in the smaller Hoover Gallery. The winning can-artwork will be featured on a custom pilsner beer by PROOF! Consider applying for that as well. 
 
Accepted artists are encouraged to provide a bio/artist statement, (100 words or less, 3rd person is best) & a 5X7 high-resolution photo. We also encourage you to take behind-the-scenes photos of you working for marketing purposes. Please email their photos with a 75-word or less description to powell@lemoyne.org. 
 
Make sure to check your junk mail for Eventeny messages. All communication will be sent through their system. 
 
Important Dates:
1.) Application Deadline: Monday, June 27th, 2022
  • Make sure all of your label information is up to date with the corresponding image. Label information is needed for the jury to review your work. You will be able to edit your application as needed until the deadline. We will use this information to make our program, labels, and inventory.
2.) Drop-off: July 8-9th, between 11-6pm.
  • If special arrangements are needed, please contact staff at powell@lemoyne.org.
  • Please check-in with a staff member to ensure all work is show-ready before leaving. Powell will be available to review on July 8th all day. The Gallery Assistant will be there on the 9th.
3.) Exhibit Opening will be July 14th from 5-7:30pm, free for artists and members, $5 for non-members.
4.) Muffins & Mimosas will be July 16th from 11-12pm, free for artists and members, $5 for non-members.
5.) Unsold works must be picked up Monday, August 8th between 11-6pm unless other arrangements are made. Artists will be responsible for removing and collecting their work from the displays. Due to limited storage space, LeMoyne Arts will not be responsible for items not picked up by Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Terms & Conditions

Participants must be at least 18 years or older, unless part of a group with an adult supervisor.
 
Make sure you fill out all of the image label information before submitting. We need the Title, Material, Dimensions, and price to create our printed program, labels, and inventory. 
 
Photos are used for the printed program, marketing efforts, and aesthetic review. 
 
Please note frames must be in good condition, clean, and ready to hang (wire preferred). We encourage artists to use simple frames that are not scratched up, as sometimes an ornate or damaged frame will deter buyers, but it's up to you.
 
We ask that at least 80% of the pieces submitted are for sale, though we do allow a few NFS if they bring quality to the exhibit.
 
All artwork submitted must be new or not shown, within the last 5 years, in other local or regional galleries (within an hour's distance).
 
All work displayed MUST be original work by the artist or group collaboration. LeMoyne Arts reserves the right to reject work that does not meet the vision & goals of this project. Trademarked or copyrighted images will not be accepted! (i.e.; college logos, Disney characters, etc.) This is a family-friendly public art project, LeMoyne reserves the right to reject inappropriate work.
 
By applying, all accepted applicants understand that LeMoyne Arts has permission to use submitted images for promotional purposes.
 
LeMoyne’s Consignment arrangement is a 60/40 split; the artist receives 60% of the sales price & LeMoyne receives 40%. Please keep in mind that LeMoyne is providing the venue, marketing, staffing, labor to set up and take down the show, hosting special events, paying merchant fees, and accounting for sales and payments.
 
Please note that LeMoyne Arts Members receive 10% discounts on purchases which is deducted from LeMoyne’s cut.

  • DELIVERY/PICK-UP/SHIPPING: Both local and out of town artists are responsible for delivery and pick up of their works. Upon delivery, a LeMoyne staff member will review the work for trademark issues, hanging mechanisms, and content appropriateness before acceptance. LeMoyne reserves the right to refuse any artwork upon inspection.
  • PUBLICITY: LeMoyne Arts makes every effort to advertise the exhibition to prospective buyers and art lovers. Unless notified in writing, the artist agrees that the works in the exhibition may be photographed for use in brochures, catalogues, news media, and other exhibition material for marketing and exhibit purposes. We ask all artists/lenders to like/follow LeMoyne Arts on social media.
  • PRICING: the artist receives 60% of the selling price for works sold from LeMoyne. LeMoyne’s commission is 40%.
  • ACCEPTANCE: If accepted, LeMoyne will request an Exhibition Agreement and W9 from the artist. LeMoyne reserves the right to refuse any submission deemed inappropriate for the exhibit.
  • HANGING: All work submitted to LeMoyne Arts must be in hanging condition (i.e. wired) any work not in hanging condition will be returned to the artist. The artist will have 24 hours to return the piece in hanging conditions.
  • Please double check that all submitted work has the corresponding information filled out.
