People's Choice Virtual Art Contest - Artist Application

Rose Center Council for the Arts People's Choice Virtual Art Contest Submitted Artwork can be in the following categories (you can submit up to TWO artworks): Clay: Original clay and porcelain work, functional or sculptural. Fiber: Includes wearable and non-wearable. No machine-tooled, machine-screen printing, or other forms of mass production are accepted. Glass: Functional and sculptural work is accepted. Kiln forming, blowing, molding, or casting, as well as all cold working processes are permitted. Metal: Sculptural or decorative work made from metal. Mixed Media: Work which combines materials from two or more mediums in one piece. Natural Materials: This includes basket weaving, chair caning, brooms, gourds, and other works made from materials found in nature. Printmaking: Only hand-pulled original prints are allowed. Prints must be in limited editions, signed, and numbered. Sculpture: Three-dimensional work using additive or subtractive processes in a single medium. Two-Dimensional: Drawing, painting. No Digital painting or drawing allowed. Wood: Original works that are hand tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved. Prizes: 1st Place: Solo Exhibition at Rose Center’s Edith Davis Gallery in 2022 Art Supplies Free Artist Membership for a Year in the Local Artist Gallery and Shoppe Free Admission to Rose Center Concerts for 2022 2nd Place: Art Supplies Free Artist Membership for a Year in the Local Artist Gallery and Shoppe Free Admission to Rose Center Concerts for 2022 3rd Place: Free Artist Membership for a Year in the Local Artist Gallery and Shoppe Free Admission to Rose Center Concerts for 2022 Winners will be contacted on or around January 3rd, 2022 and be featured in a publicity video for Rose Center. *Note: "Business Name" in the application can be the same as the artist's name.

Contest Rules: 1. There is NO entry fee for this contest. Contest is open to the general public in the Lakeway Area aged 18 years or older. 2. Anyone who resides in the following counties: Hamblen, Jefferson, Claiborne, Cocke, Hancock, Grainger. 3. Artwork must be original by the artist and completed within the past 3 years. 4. Submitted artwork must contain artist name, title, medium, and dimensions. 5. Accepted forms of art submissions: see list ABOVE. 6. Forms NOT accepted: Digital painting/drawing. 7. Artist may submit up to TWO artworks for the competition. 8. Artist must submit a high-quality photo of the artwork in its complete context and showing all parts. 9. If artist wins the competition, they must have AT LEAST 15 artworks on hand for an exhibit at Rose Center. 10. Any submission that does not follow these guidelines will be disqualified. 11. After submissions, artwork will be posted anonymously to Rose Center’s Facebook page. The artworks with the most “likes” and “loves” will win the prizes. 12. Time for people to vote for artwork will be December 22 – December 31st. Deadline: December 19th, 2021.
