Matsuricon 2025
Columbus, OH

Nomination statement
This year was a truly momentous year for Matsuricon, one that us staffers even consider a milestone. Ohio had faced many controversies from other local anime conventions, so a lot of eyes were on us to see how we would fare. Our team consists now of some of the most dedicated staffers I've ever met, and that showed after a super smooth running weekend and a growth of over 25%. Attendees and staffers across the board were very happy, even with some of the pitfalls that the convention faced, and I couldn't be more proud to see strength and adversity mixed in with true dedication to the community. Also, it's charity department raised over $16,000 to support not only Columbus's local Pellotonia efforts but also to a voice actor within the community affected by cancer. This team and this community deserve to be recognized for an incredibly well-run event that supported local organizations as well as its own staffers. I come from a place of being high leadership now, but I've attended Matsuricon as an attendee since 2015 and grew to love it so much I started staffing only 4 years ago. If you love anime conventions as well as a loving community, Matsuricon is definitely worth checking out <3 I hope you'll consider my home convention for this award, this team deserves to know how well it is loved!

Matsuricon has always been amazing. This year was one of the best yet. Amazing cosplayers. Amazing friends. I couldn't ask for a better event

Matsuricon has always been a great place to gather together to celebrate what we love about Japan and the media that comes from it. It's a safe place for community and every year, it gets bigger and better!

MomoCon
Atlanta, GA

Nomination statement
Very well organized and unique event.

Momocon organizes over a thousand volunteers through Eventny every year to run a four day convention over Memorial Day weekend. The attendance has increased to surpass DragonCon now placing it in the top 5 largest Southern conventions. Every person helping behind the scenes is a volunteer and some of us watched it grow from a gathering on GA Tech campus to this amazing family friendly cosplay, gaming and anime convention that provides an escape from reality.

MomoCon should be nominated for Convention of the Year on Eventeny because it has become one of the most impactful and well-run fan events in North America. The convention consistently delivers a high-quality experience for attendees, exhibitors, guests, and partners while maintaining a strong operational foundation and a clear focus on community.

MomoCon has grown into a large-scale event that welcomes more than sixty thousand unique attendees. Despite this growth, it continues to offer an experience that is organized, accessible, and welcoming. The scale of the exhibit hall, the quality of programming, and the breadth of gaming and animation content position MomoCon as a leader within the fan convention industry.

The convention also demonstrates a strong commitment to innovation. MomoCon has expanded exhibitor opportunities, supported emerging creators, and developed new programming partnerships such as the upcoming Wonder Festival US collaboration. These efforts increase industry value and create opportunities that are not commonly available at comparable events.

Exhibitors and partners consistently note the professionalism of the staff, the smooth on-site operations, and the strength of attendee engagement. Volunteers and team members contribute to a reliable and positive environment that reflects strong organizational culture and effective management.

MomoCon is a convention that consistently raises the bar for quality, growth, and community impact. It delivers meaningful value to fans and industry partners and represents the type of event that should be recognized as Convention of the Year.

Matthews Community Farmers' Market
Matthews, NC

Nomination statement

Matthews Community Farmers’ Market should be recognized as Best Market because it does what a farmers’ market is meant to do: connect people directly with the growers and producers who feed them. Our farmers grow what they sell - no resale permitted. Our vendors are rooted within 60 miles of the market. When people shop here, the dollars stay here and help keep small farms operating and land in agriculture. This year, we expanded access in meaningful ways. We continue to accept SNAP and provide matching Double Bucks funds so families can stretch their grocery dollars. And for the first time, we participated in the Mecklenburg County Senior Farmers Market Voucher Program, which brought more older adults on fixed incomes back to the market. Now they return regularly, leaving with fresh food and a renewed sense of connection. Our market isn’t just a place to shop. It’s where neighbors talk to farmers about weather and soil. It’s where children taste local strawberries and learn where food actually comes from. It’s where volunteers, vendors, and customers know each other by name. We host community meals, chef demos, seasonal workshops, children’s activities, and live music, not just as entertainment, but as ways to strengthen a local culture that values real food and the people who grow it. Matthews Community Farmers’ Market has been part of this town for over thirty years, and we continue to evolve with purpose. We hold ourselves to high standards, we work collaboratively, and we approach our role with care. The result is a market that is economically, culturally, and socially meaningful. This is local food done with integrity. That is why it deserves recognition as Best Market of the Year.

What started as a few yoga mats in a park has evolved into one of the most inspiring community markets in the state — attracting thousands of attendees and dozens of local vendors each month.
Corey’s vision has transformed Coco Market into a thriving ecosystem where local artisans, healers, and small businesses can flourish. It’s completely free to attend, family- and dog-friendly, and rooted in well-being — offering sound baths, yoga, meditation, and holistic workshops alongside local food, art, and music. Corey also always promotes a different nonprofit at each event and donates a portion of the vendor fees, which are collected to cover expenses.
Coco Market deserves to be recognized because it embodies the true spirit of community: inclusive, intentional, and uplifting. It’s proof that one person’s passion for wellness can ripple outward to create a movement that heals, connects, and strengthens entire communities.

Good Vibes Market
Torrance, CA

Nomination statement
Devi White goes above and beyond as a market coordinator for all of her events as the owner of The Good Vibes Market. Her “selfie moment” areas are always so well designed, her DJs have appropriate playlists that put everyone in the right mood at a volume where I’m not screaming to communicate with my customers. The entertainment she provides is scheduled which encourages families to stay and have consistently been characters or entertainers that kids are really excited to see (Bluey, Magic, LaBuBu…).
Most importantly - she’s been a great coordinator for the vendors. Our events are packed with customers because of the events she curates, but she is thoughtful about the details that matter to vendors. Access to clean bathrooms, scheduled arrivals so everyone has a chance to pull up directly to their booth space and unload rather than carting from a distance. Her communications in advance are very helpful and she actually checks in throughout the event.
I cannot recommend her events enough to shoppers and vendors. I’ve put several NEW vendors onto her events and they’ve consistently had very successful events with her.

Black Biz Flea Market
San Diego, CA

Nomination statement
Awarding Black Biz Flea Market as Event of the Year would honor a movement that not only uplifts small businesses but also celebrates culture, connection, and collective pride across San Diego.

Since its launch in 2022, Black Biz Flea Market has grown into a lively celebration where culture, creativity, and community come alive. Each event features local and regional Black-owned businesses, delicious food vendors, live performances, art displays, raffles, and giveaways. With rows of vibrant booths showcasing handmade crafts, clothing, skincare products, and more, the market is more than a shopping experience—it’s a cultural homecoming.

In a city like San Diego, where Black communities have historically had limited spaces to gather and be seen, Black Biz Flea Market creates that space—one filled with joy, representation, and opportunity. It fuels entrepreneurship, cultural spending power, and reminds the city of the power and beauty of community-driven events.

According to Americans for the Arts, the nonprofit arts and culture industry generates $151.7 billion annually in economic activity and supports 4.6 million jobs nationwide—proving that when creativity and commerce meet, communities thrive.

Braderie South
Jekyll Island, GA

Nomination statement
Braderie South is not simply a market—it is a cultural experience that restores the elegance, joy, and sense of discovery that once defined great American resort life. As the first new event of its kind, Braderie South invites guests into a fully immersive world where history is not only preserved, but lived.
Hosted on the storied grounds of a 100+ year old resort, Braderie South transforms the historic district into a gracious, open-air promenade beneath centuries-old live oaks, where guests may wander among antiques, fine art, heirloom pieces, contemporary craftsmanship, and inspired design. The event blends the pleasure of shopping with the deeper delight of learning—where curators, makers, and historians meet the public in warm conversation.
Historic motorcars roll across lawn and lane, docents lead storied walking tours, and interpreters in period attire evoke the genteel spirit of the island’s Gilded Age heritage. The result is not a reenactment, but a reawakening—an environment where guests experience the past as something beautifully present, rather than distant or static.
Braderie South champions legacy, craftsmanship, and the continuity of beauty across generations. It is family-friendly without being commercial, luxurious without being inaccessible, and deeply intentional in every detail—from its curation of exhibitors to its programming of salons, talks, and demonstrations that explore how history informs today’s interiors, collections, and personal style.
In a culture of fast, disposable experiences, Braderie South stands apart as an invitation to slow down, savor, connect, and rediscover the art of meaningful gathering. It brings together commerce, culture, leisure, and learning in a way no other market currently offers.
Braderie South is not just a new event. It is the beginning of a tradition—one poised to shape the next era of Southern heritage tourism, design culture, and community celebration. For this reason, it deserves recognition as Best Market.

Orofino Farmers Market
Orofino, ID

Nomination statement
In our little town of 3,000 people the volunteers of the Orofino Farmers Market have grown the market into a community gathering space where neighbors support neighbors. Thursday evenings gathered in the City Park with up to 30 vendors offering everything from locally raised beef, a variety of homemade breads, fresh prepared wood fired pizza, handcrafted ceramics, fresh herbs & produce...oh, and of course the best baked goods (like Ty's Rolliest Cinnamon Rolls that sell out every single time) all nestled along the Clearwater River with a summertime splash pad and local musicians who bring the tunes. Once a month we take the party to the streets of Downtown where we have a full band and extend the invite to vendors of all kinds! Attendees can expect to participate in the theme with a chance to win Farm Bureau Market Bucks (thanks to our awesome sponsors!) and even be sure to take home a freebie (like seed packets) for coming downtown and supporting local. Join us in the fall for our Annual Apple Harvest Party where you get to press your very own apple cider- for free! We love our community and want to see families thriving.

The OFM is dedicated to creating food accessibility to Orofino and the greater surrounding communities. A market that not only inspires and educates about growing your own foods, but is diligent about building the economics internally by supporting entrepreneurs in every step of their journey (juniors too) - we are neighbors supporting neighbors.

Garden of Hope
The Bronx, NY

Nomination statement
? Why the Opening of The Going Deeper Garden of Hope Deserves to Be Recognized as the Event of the Year
The Going Deeper Garden of Hope is more than a physical space—it is a living symbol of resilience, restoration, and radical love in action. Its grand opening marks a historic moment for the Bronx and beyond, where trauma-informed care, faith-rooted healing, and community empowerment converge in one sacred, green sanctuary.
Here’s why this event stands out as the Event of the Year:
? A Vision Rooted in Healing and Legacy
The Garden of Hope is the manifestation of a long-held dream to create a safe, beautiful space where women, children, and families impacted by trauma can reconnect with nature, dignity, and each other. It honors the legacy of those who have endured hardship and transforms pain into purpose—offering not just flowers, but futures.
? A Community-Driven Miracle
This garden was not built by institutions—it was built by neighbors, mothers, survivors, and visionaries. Through grassroots organizing, donated materials, and countless volunteer hours, the Garden of Hope blossomed from concrete into a sanctuary. Its opening is a celebration of what’s possible when a community believes in itself.
? A Launchpad for Transformation
The event introduced more than a garden—it launched a movement. With programs in workforce readiness, youth mentorship, spiritual care, and small business incubation, the Garden of Hope is a hub for holistic empowerment. It’s where a woman can plant seeds of healing and harvest a new beginning.
? A Celebration of Culture, Faith, and Joy
The opening was a vibrant, intergenerational celebration filled with music, prayer, storytelling, and shared meals. It brought together elders, youth, faith leaders, artists, and advocates in a powerful display of unity and joy. In a time of division and despair, this event reminded us of the beauty of coming together.
? A Beacon of What’s Possible
In a borough too often defined by struggle, the Garden of Hope redefines the narrative. It proves that beauty can bloom in broken places, and that with faith, creativity, and community, we can build spaces that heal, uplift, and inspire.
The Going Deeper Garden of Hope is not just an event—it’s a movement, a ministry, and a miracle. Its opening deserves to be recognized as the Event of the Year because it planted more than flowers—it planted hope.

South Bay Makers Market
Sunnyvale, CA

Nomination statement
South Bay Makers has become one of the most impactful small business events in the south bay community. Their growth over the last two years has been significant, and the heart of their success comes from their mission. South Bay Makers was created by small business owners who understand what local entrepreneurs truly need, and it shows in every event they host.

People love attending, and vendors feel appreciated. Every event carries a warm, family feeling that is rare to find. It is a space where makers can grow their confidence, connect with other entrepreneurs, and build genuine relationships with the community.
South Bay Makers has become much more than a marketplace. It has become a positive force for small businesses and a true example of what community support looks like. This is why it deserves to be recognized as Event of the Year.

Nothing made us happier than seeing everyone have fun at an event with 3 decades of tradition!!! Our nonprofit is deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed in this economy—financially and in countless other ways—to keeping this beloved event alive in honor of Emma Crawford and the many tuberculosis patients who came to Manitou Springs in the 1800s seeking healing in our fresh mountain air and mineral springs.

Tacos and Beats Festival
Little Elm, TX

Nomination statement
Tacos and Beats redefined what it means to create culture with purpose. More than a festival, it was a full-scale movement that fused music, food, art, and community into one unforgettable experience that celebrated diversity, creativity, and connection in the heart of North Texas.

In just its second year, Tacos and Beats drew thousands of attendees to Little Elm Beach and delivered a lineup rivaling national stages — featuring icons like Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Keyshia Cole, and Jeremih — while amplifying local artists, entrepreneurs, and small businesses through curated vendor zones, immersive activations, and intentional community partnerships.

What made this event extraordinary wasn’t just the music. It was the mission.
Tacos and Beats was built on the belief that culture should feed people — body, soul, and community. Every taco served, every beat dropped, and every partnership formed represented a step toward economic empowerment and cultural unity.

Montgomery Fest
Montgomery, IL

Nomination statement
This year marked a truly special milestone for our community as we celebrated the 40th anniversary of our beloved festival, Montgomery Fest — a tradition that has grown from humble beginnings into a cherished, multi-generational celebration of local spirit, creativity, and connection.

Our 2025 festival was a fabulous, 3-day celebration along the Fox River. For 40 years, we have spent Montgomery Fest weekend excitedly catching candy while watching the parade, diligently going down every aisle to see all the craft fair vendors, going on every single carnival ride multiple times, and trying one of everything on the menu that our food vendors offer. And while the look of Montgomery Fest has changed over time, the fun that our community has each year is unprecedented.
As this festival has grown over the last four decades, we have expanded to showcase local dance groups on our main stage, played multiple rounds of trivia, and offered an exclusive VIP event for our most supportive partners. One of our favorite recent additions to Montgomery Fest is Family Fest, a joyful experience designed for all ages. Families delighted in custard-eating contests, exclusive kids’ entertainment, and whimsical pop-up princess boutiques, creating magical memories for children and nostalgic joy for parents.

We also featured the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers from Mashpee, Massachusetts as our special guests. They performed many eastern woodland social dances and invited audience participation.

Attendees also enjoyed Indian tacos, flute music, competition powwow dancing, a hoop dance demonstration, and visiting our Indigenous arts and crafts booths.

Luvin Arms Spring Fest
Erie, Colorado

Nomination statement
Luvin Arms Spring Fest is more than a celebration: it’s a community experience that brings together compassion, connection, and joy in a way few festivals can. Hosted at Luvin Arms Animal Sanctuary in Erie, CO, this annual event welcomes hundreds of guests to experience the beauty of spring, the stories of rescued animals, and the power of kindness in action.
What Makes Spring Fest Stand Out? Spring Fest isn’t just entertainment
it’s purpose-driven. Every activity, vendor, and experience supports Luvin Arms’ mission to inspire justice, equity, and compassion for all living beings. Visitors leave not only uplifted, but transformed, understanding the direct impact of their choices on animals and the planet.
From live music, local plant-based food vendors, and kids’ activities to educational sanctuary tours, Spring Fest is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all ages. It’s become a beloved community tradition that connects families, volunteers, and visitors from across the region.
Unlike typical festivals, Spring Fest takes place among the very residents whose lives inspire it: rescued farmed animals who have found safety and love at Luvin Arms. Guests interact directly with these animals, creating an emotional and memorable experience that deepens empathy and understanding.
Spring Fest models what an eco-conscious event can be. All food is plant-based, waste is minimized, and educational booths promote sustainability and mindful living. It’s a joyful demonstration of how festivals can be fun and responsible.
Spring Fest also uplifts local businesses and nonprofits, providing a platform for vendors and partners who share values of compassion and sustainability. It strengthens community bonds and showcases the best of what Colorado stands for: kindness, collaboration, and care.
Many attendees report that Spring Fest inspires them to make lasting changes: from volunteering at the sanctuary to adopting a more plant-based lifestyle. It’s a festival that doesn’t just entertain. It transforms hearts and builds a better future.

Sabine Freestate Festival
Florien, LA

Nomination statement
the people there are amazing, kind, and very kind.
This is one of the best festivals in the state and celebrates our community and our past. Our shoot-out skits bring part of the past to our attention and we have a fun time.

This is festival is absolutely the BEST in the State! You can't ask for a more family friendly environment!

The Sabine Freestate Festival has been going strong since 1980 and celebrates the unique history of Louisiana and the Louisiana Purchase. Showcasing the way of life during 1806-1821 in the area known as No Man's Land, the Sabine Freestate Festival perpetuates history through western shootout re-enactments, historical demonstrators, vendors and artisans, food, parade, and so much more. In 2025, we continued to grow by adding the "Freestate Stockyards" which included Mutton Bustin', Dummy Roping, and more activities for event goers of all ages. Admission to our festival grounds is FREE and family-friendly. We won the 2023 and 2024 Division 1 Festival of the Year from the Louisiana Association of Fairs and Festivals. Winning this award or even placing in the top numbers would mean so much to our little board. We continue to grow annually with visitors from all over the nation despite only have 12 people on the Board of Directors and a total of 20 people or less to volunteer.

Know Other Festival
Jacumba Hot Springs, CA

Nomination statement
Know Other Festival should be recognized as the event of the year because it is redefining what a queer festival can be. At a time when most LGBTQ+ gatherings lean into nightlife or entertainment, Know Other Festival created a transformative model centered on wellness, community care, and economic empowerment. It is a four day, three night experience designed with intention, shaped by lived expertise, and built entirely around LGBTQ+ women, trans, and nonbinary people who are rarely centered in festival culture .

This is not simply an event, it is a sanctuary. Attendees come for healing workshops, community conversations, performances, and opportunities for self expression in a protected space where consent, accessibility, and inclusion are treated as core operational pillars, not afterthoughts . The festival confronts the gaps in both mainstream wellness and queer event landscapes by providing trauma informed healing spaces, disability centered access services, and a fully queer vendor marketplace that keeps economic power inside the community.

Know Other Festival is also a movement that scales impact. Led by a volunteer team with an average of twenty years of community building experience, the festival is projected to grow by more than thirty five percent over the next five years, demonstrating both sustainability and demand for truly inclusive queer wellness spaces .

In a year where the community needed connection, safety, renewal, and representation, Know Other Festival delivered an experience that was culturally relevant, socially impactful, and deeply transformative. It stands out as a pioneering model for how festivals can hold space for healing, identity, artistry, and liberation with authenticity and purpose. It is the blueprint for the future of queer experiential events.

Our medieval fantasy festival jumpstarts the renaissance faire-going season in the Pacific Northwest and we have received wonderful reviews! We could not be more excited to continue bringing value to our patrons through the tools provided to us by Eventeny. We were able to scale this much thanks to the organization and standardization that Eventeny provides!

Galena Holidaze Festival
Galena, IL

Nomination statement
It is a magical Hallmark movie event in our little town.

Brings people together and has a little something for everyone, regardless of age.

Very unique vendors, no Amazon or Large company type vendors. Plus the town has its own appeal with local shops, eateries, wineries & distilleries.
The Galena Holidaze Festival deserves this recognition because it represents everything a great community event should be—heart, purpose, connection, and true hometown magic.

This festival was founded by a woman who believed deeply in the power of bringing people together. After the isolation of COVID, when families, friends, and neighbors were apart for so long, she wanted to create something that would help Galena reconnect—something joyful, welcoming, and memorable. What began as a simple idea to gather and celebrate has grown into a cherished annual tradition where people return year after year to make new memories and kick off the holiday season with warmth and excitement.

Holidaze isn’t just an event—it’s an experience. From the iceless ice skating rink and live reindeer to the giant snow globe, local entertainment, children’s activities, and community volunteers who show up with incredible spirit, every detail is designed to remind us of the joy of being together. It brings visitors to town, supports local businesses, and gives families a place to slow down and savor the season.

At its core, the Galena Holidaze Festival is a celebration of community resilience and togetherness. It captures the heart of Galena, and that’s why it deserves to be named Festival of the Year.

Galena Halloween Parade
Galena, IL

Nomination statement
The Galena Halloween Parade is an extraordinary event that showcases the true power of community, creativity, and small-town spirit. In a city of just 3,500 residents, this beloved parade welcomed an incredible 30,000 spectators this year—an achievement that speaks volumes about its impact, reputation, and magnetic charm.
For decades, the parade has been a signature Galena tradition, drawing families, friends, and visitors from across the Midwest for an unforgettable night of lights, costumes, music, and imagination. What makes the event truly remarkable is not just its scale, but its heart. Local businesses, organizations, volunteers, and parade participants pour months of effort into creating floats and experiences that bring joy to all ages.
The parade doesn’t just entertain—it fuels the local economy. Shops stay open late, restaurants fill with guests, and hotels book out months in advance. The energy it brings to Galena ripples far beyond one evening, strengthening community pride and showcasing our town as a vibrant, welcoming destination.
To bring 30,000 people safely and joyfully into a small community takes vision, dedication, and countless hours from volunteers, first responders, city crews, and organizers. Their combined effort transforms downtown Galena into a magical, glowing celebration that rivals any major-city event—yet remains deeply rooted in hometown traditions.
The Galena Halloween Parade is more than a parade
it is one of the most iconic, impactful events in our region. Its ability to unite tens of thousands in celebration is exactly why it deserves recognition as Festival of the Year.

48 Hour Film Project, Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA

Nomination statement
The Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Project (LA 48HFP) stands out as a pinnacle of innovative, high-stakes filmmaking events, blending creativity, community, and global reach in a way that elevates the entire festival landscape. The LA 48HFP merits the "Best Festival of the Year" title for its unparalleled ability to democratize filmmaking, foster emerging talent, and deliver adrenaline-fueled cinematic excellence. Below, I'll outline the key reasons, drawing from its proven track record and 2025 impact.
1. Unmatched Innovation and Intensity: The Ultimate Creative Pressure Cooker
At its core, LA 48HFP challenges teams to write, shoot, edit, and submit a short film in just 48 hours, incorporating assigned elements like a genre, character name, prop, and dialogue line. This isn't passive viewing—it's participatory chaos that forces raw ingenuity under deadline duress.
In 2025, the event (held August 1-3) drew over 120 teams, including award-winners like SPROUTIN’ Studio, showcasing films that premiered at Regal Cinemas in North Hollywood. The result? High-quality shorts like ECHOES (Paradigm Shift), which clinched Best Film and advanced to Filmapalooza 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal—proving the format yields festival-caliber work.
This model has jump-started careers worldwide, with participants crediting it for skills gained "in a weekend more than in a year of film school." It's a festival that makes films, not just screens them, setting a benchmark for experiential innovation.
2. Global Prestige and Industry Pipeline: From LA Streets to Cannes
As the flagship event in the world's largest film market (Los Angeles), LA 48HFP isn't isolated—it's the launchpad for international acclaim. The city winner represents LA at Filmapalooza, the 48HFP's annual finale, where top films earn accreditation and screenings at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.
Historically, LA entries have dominated: In 2003, Baggage (Slapdash Films) took Best Film
in 2025, ECHOES swept multiple categories (2nd Best Film, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design) and featured international talent like Japanese actors in standout roles.
This pipeline aligns with evAwards' emphasis on festivals that contribute to society by amplifying diverse voices—LA 48HFP's alumni include pros who've landed SAG-AFTRA gigs and hobbyists turned directors, all while maintaining volunteer-driven inclusivity.
3. Community Building and Diversity: A True Filmmaking Family
With 7,690+ Facebook followers and buzzing X activity (e.g., promotions reaching thousands), LA 48HFP builds lasting networks. Teams form "families" of crew and actors, as one participant noted, turning strangers into collaborators.
It's accessible to all levels—beginners, pros, and SAG-AFTRA volunteers—while embracing genres like Horror/Comedy (a 2025 variant). Films like BABY TRAIN (2024, screening at Regal LA Live) highlighted diverse casts, including multilingual talent, fostering an inclusive vibe rare in elite festivals.
In a year of economic pressures on indie film, LA 48HFP's low-barrier entry (early bird at $20 off) and audience-voted awards (e.g., Audience Choice) make it a democratic force, countering gatekept events and earning evAwards-worthy praise for societal impact.
4. Excellence in Execution: Awards, Judging, and Lasting Legacy
Judged by industry heavyweights (past panels included actors like Dave Costabile and Sean Gunn), the festival delivers rigorous, fair evaluations across categories like Best Writing, Acting, and Use of Elements. 2025's ECHOES exemplifies this, with nominations extending to Best Actor despite minor name tweaks—humorous proof of its passionate, human touch.
As part of a 24-year global series (active since 2001), LA 48HFP has influenced spin-offs like 48 Go Green and 48FILM Project, while hosting Filmapalooza 2023 in LA amplified its stature. No other festival packs workshops, premieres, networking, and a grand ceremony into a weekend that feels like a career accelerator.

Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off
Beach Haven, NJ

Nomination statement
The Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off should be recognized as Event of the Year because it is a true legacy festival that was nearly lost after COVID-19. In 2020, the event was paused and its future was uncertain — yet a new group of passionate community organizers stepped in and have spent the last two years revitalizing it. Today, the festival is on it's way to returning to its former scale, and is growing again with renewed energy, upgraded programming, and record attendance. Even more meaningful, the event is 100% volunteer-run and entirely focused on giving back: in 2025, the Chowder Cook-Off raised $200,000 for local food banks and the Beach Haven community. It represents the very best of what a festival can be — tradition, community pride, and real impact.

Bemidji Pride
Bemidji, MN

Nomination statement
In the heart of northwestern Minnesota, where small-town traditions run deep and progress can feel slow to arrive, Bemidji Pride has emerged as a powerful symbol of resistance, resilience, and radiant joy. What began five years ago as a spark of hope for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in our region has grown into one of Bemidji’s most transformative community events. It is proof that love and belonging can take root anywhere, even where the ground is hardest. In a place where rural isolation and historic trauma often collide, 2SLGBTQIA+ and Two-Spirit people across our region, including community members from the Red Lake, White Earth, and Leech Lake Nations, find safety and belonging in the heart of our programming.
Bemidji Pride is not just a festival. It is a lifeline. For many in our community, youth searching for acceptance, elders who have never before felt safe enough to show up authentically, and families finding connection for the first time, Bemidji Pride is the one place each year where they know they will be welcomed exactly as they are. In a moment when the 2SLGBTQIA+ community faces rising hostility, legislative attacks, and increasing social division across the Midwest, the existence and longevity of Bemidji Pride is nothing short of courageous.
Operating in a rural region comes with challenges many larger festivals never face, including limited funding sources, volunteer shortages, and persistent local backlash. Each year, our small all-volunteer team contends with regional funding caps, security concerns, and capacity strain. Yet every year, we continue to grow. We continue to create joy. We continue to show up.
Over the last five years, Bemidji Pride has successfully hosted a full weekend of inclusive event programming, including our annual outdoor Pride festival, our annual drag show, our annual comedy showcase, arts programming, sober-friendly gatherings, and community events that bridge generations, cultures, and identities. We have built partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and tribal communities. Most importantly, we have built a home for people who have never had one.
Eventeny has been vital to making that possible.
With a small staff and limited bandwidth, we depend on tools that simplify the complex work of festival planning. Eventeny has given us the infrastructure we needed to grow despite our constraints, including intuitive vendor systems, seamless ticketing, volunteer coordination, and the ability to manage our programming more professionally and efficiently than ever before. What could have been overwhelming became achievable. What was once a tiny rural Pride celebration became a full citywide celebration of identity, art, and community.
Because of Eventeny, we have been able to channel our energy into what matters most: creating safe, joyful, affirming spaces for every person who needs them, including Two-Spirit youth and adults whose voices and stories are often erased or overlooked.
Bemidji Pride stands as proof that even in the most unexpected places, hope can thrive, communities can shift, and celebrations can become movements. It is more than an event. It is a testament to what is possible when courage, community, and technology come together.
For these reasons and more, we are honored to nominate Bemidji Pride for the Ev Awards. Rural Pride matters. Two-Spirit people matter. Our community matters. And our story shows that even in the face of adversity, joy will always find a way to rise.

Eugene Springfield PRIDE Festival
Eugene, OR

Nomination statement
In June 2025, Eugene Springfield PRIDE Festival transformed the Lane Events Center into the largest LGBTQ2SIA+ gathering in our region, welcoming more than 13,500 attendees for a full day of celebration, connection, and community care. 100% volunteer-run, the Pride Day Equality Project created a free, family-friendly festival with a Youth Zone, Sober Circle, accessible indoor/outdoor spaces, and over 300 local vendors, nonprofits, and performers.
Beyond the rainbow flags, the festival invested back into our community through the William “Bill” Sullivan Scholarship Fund, awarding $16,000 to LGBTQ2SIA+ students, and by spotlighting local organizations doing year-round work for equity and inclusion. In a year of increasing hostility toward queer and trans people, Eugene Springfield PRIDE Festival 2025 offered something rare and powerful: a joyful, safe, and affirming space where people of all ages could show up exactly as themselves. That’s why it deserves to be the Best Event of 2025.
