Original oil on canvas framed in "floating" whitewashed wooden frame to expose gallery wrap. Canvas size is 36" H x 24" W. My frames add 3" to the height/width dimensions of the canvas size. Framed dimensions are 39" H x 27" W. Dimensions noted below are for the shipping crate if shipping via FedEx. Lighthouses have always struck me as special places. Maybe it was the thought of the lonely lighthouse keepers before the lighthouses became automated. Sand Island Light is especially desolate - standing guard at the mouth of Mobile Bay on its own secluded island.

I paint in studio with oils on canvas from photographs I take as I travel the coastal South. I have such wonderful memories of growing up at the beach on the Bolivar Peninsula that I am particularly drawn to paint coastal birds, boats and landscapes near the shore. I was born and raised in Beaumont, TX and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from our hometown university, Lamar University. After a career in advertising, I returned to my first love - painting.
