ColorMix DK is a 2-ply, DK/light worsted weight yarn consisting of 100% Superwash Merino wool. It works up in a marled gradient fashion. Super soft for all items including baby blankets and next-to-the-skin garments. Machine wash on cold, or hand wash. The last photo is to show you an example of how these yarns work up, and is not included in this sale.
Why the wide range of grams (90-100g)?
ColorMix Yarn is very similar to handspun yarn, in that there will be small variances in thickness throughout the skein. These variances effect the overall weight of the yarn and can not be controlled. The yardage, however, can be controlled since all skeins are wound on the same 2-yard skein winder set to a particular count, or number of rotations.
Yarn Hero's ColorMix line is a unique dyed-in-the-wool yarn that works up into long gradients and/or stripes of color. Just as the name implies, ColorMix utilizes optical blending within the strand to create a wide range of color blends. Unlike hand-painted yarn, the colors will shift, marl, stripe, and shift back again. No pooling guaranteed! Each skein is a one-of-a-kind, even when from the same dye lot. No need to alternate skeins when working with multiple skeins on a large project!

A note about the milling process.
All ColorMix yarns are milled in a small, family-run US mini mill. This means that the yarns are created by hand in small batches on simple cottage industry equipment. Due to this, there will be small variances in the thickness of the yarn throughout the skein, as well as the occasional slub or join where the spinning machine "burped" while in the middle of the run. :)
