Inspired by the great white horse carved into the chalk at Uffington, this piece also includes Celtic spirals, tiny birds, and a radiant moonstone cabochon. Unlike most Celtic jewelry, this necklace does not have any Celtic knotwork whatsoever. Instead, it features an older, more primitive style brimming with energy and magic. The Epona Necklace is made of sterling silver, and it is set with a genuine moonstone cabochon. The central crescent of the necklace measures over 2" across, and the necklace itself is 18" long (adjustable down to 16"). Why is it called the "Epona" necklace? Epona is the Celtic horse goddess, specifically the patron goddess of mares and foals. Wait, isn't Rhiannon the Celtic horse goddess? Rhiannon is another Celtic deity strongly associated with horses.
