"Trudging up this unmaintained path in winter from the dog park to Lyndhurst in winter can be a chore, given slippery ice/snow and of course the hill! I first painted this in several values of fluorescent red and crimson red which peek out now as the energetic background in several places. Adding in cooler colours helped capture the atmospheric chill and facilitated a sense of depth and mystery heading into the steep forested hill road."
